Help me pick between two H-VS2 1.2ct ideals

Hey all, brand new to the forum. I've done a bit of reading and researching on my own, but I had a question. I have pretty much narrowed my search down to two stones from whiteflash, both H VS2 ideal cut RBs, about 1.2ct. One is a Whiteflash ACA, and the other is from their "Expert Selection". My biggest question is whether or not the light performance of the ACA is going to be a discernible difference from the less expensive stone. First, the ACA:

And the Expert Selection stone.

Whichever stone I get will be mounted in WF's 6-prong tiffany knife edge setting. What do ya'll think?

I really don't like the inclusion in the Expert Selection stone.
WF has a magnificent (shines like crazy) 2.04ct I-SI1 with a similar ugly inclusion, I saw the stone (and the inclusion with the naked eye) in 2005 and it is still there!

So do the inclusions in the ACA stone appear to be less noticeable? Neither my soon to be fiancee or I are very knowledgeable about diamonds, but I do want to get the most stone for my money, and this is about at the very top of my price range.

Would something like an ugly inclusion exclude something from the ACA collection, or does that simply refer to the quality of the cut?

edit: The inclusions actually appear (looking at the AGS certificate) to be more significant in the ACA stone. Am I just interpreting it wrong?

I don't think you will have any problem with VS2 inclusions. Both stones look great, there may be subtle differences between the two but they will be quite subtle. Perhaps one of the experts can chime in. Also I would call WF and ask them their opinion. It might be worth the extra $500 to you to know you have the ACA or it might not-depends on what your priorities are.

Update: After talking to Bob at WF, I went ahead and bit the bullet. He told me that to the naked eye the two stones were identical, eye clean, and that the only difference I would be able to notice for the extra $500 was knowing that I had the ACA brand. So, I got the expert selection stone.

This is my first time buying a "real" diamond, and I'm a little anxious having not seen it in person. I think it had an HCA rating of 1.5 or so, so I'm hoping that it delivers in terms of fire, brilliance, and scintillation. How did I do, guys?

Update: The ring is finished and will ship out tomorrow. My (soon-to-be) fiance is out of town on a business trip, but will be back on Friday. We are going to celebrate her birthday that night, and she will be getting this as an unexpected gift.

These are the Whiteflash glamour shots that they emailed me, I can't wait to see the ring in person. They have been a joy to work with so far, and I will be thrilled if the ring looks as good in person as it does in these pictures.

Just to sum up previous posts: This is a 1.204ct H VS2, AGS0 ideal cut from WF's Expert Selection. The setting is their Classic Tiffany Knife Edge in platinum.

Good luck. :)

:appl: Looking forward to hand pics!

stunning! I can not wait to see hand pics and heard about the proposal! :appl:

You did great! And I would have probably picked the ES too ;))

I picked the ring up from FedEx this morning. I'm thrilled! The stone itself is absolutely gorgeous, and the setting is exactly (I think) what she wanted. Here are some pics of the ring taken by me, on my finger. I think it will look much better on hers :) The size of the stone is great, too. It's hard for me to keep an accurate idea of size in my head while looking at close up internet pics and what not, but I'm not at all disappointed. Originally I was hoping to go with something a little bigger, but I'm glad I spent that money on cut and clarity.

Wink will be so mad at you if he sees these pics. He always make sure to us guys not to touch the ring with our bare hands before presenting it to the ladies, you are going to leave fingerprints on the fine finish. :p

Oops! I'll try and leave it alone then. I couldn't help myself...

ya.. :p

Good luck with the proposal. :D

Just wash it in some warm water with some dish soap, dry it with toilet paper, everything will be fine.
The ring and the diamond are both gorgeous!

I always find pics of men holding their fiancee's tiny little rings on their pinkies very cute ::)

Good luck!

Very nice!

So, I gave her the ring on Saturday and we are officially engaged. She loves it! I do too, seeing it out and being worn in a variety of different lights it really is a gorgeous ring, and 1.2 ct is certainly not too small. It's just so icy and sparkly, she has to hide it from my view while I'm driving or I'll keep looking at it instead of the road.

Here's a pic she took, it's not great but maybe we'll take some more and I will post them.
