This is a cheap aluminum and shell band that my FI bought at his grandmother''s insistance that I MUST have an e-ring no matter how cheap *now.* It''s got quite a bit of sentimental value for me and I''d like to have it re-done in nice mat''l that won''t break down as a wedding band. Probem is, aside from plat or WG for the metal, I have no idea what to replace the tinted shell with.

Aquamarine perhaps for the blue, but what for the white shell?

Suggestions?

garrrr...second try on the pic:

I think the obvious answer is diamonds...how closely do you want it to match? Are you going to be looking for trillion shaped stones?

white opal?

I think opal would be way to fragile for that, no?

matatora: I''m not sure at this point, I just had the idea today. I''m afraid diamonds might be a little too sparkley for what I want in a wedding band, and I like the sort of opalescent shell look. Hmm. Can moonstone be cut in trilliants?

Uops, i did it before
you said you dont want diamonds

oooh..pretty. I hadn''t considered the pave with it. Possibilities, possibilities.

strmdr: good idea, I will file it away for when I get this thing made (honestly in about a year, but always good to have ideas). The all-sapphire will be much more durable than the aqua.

Oh Wow PS! That is lovely! I would not have thought to mix pave with trillions like that but what a delicious outcome!

What a match!

I would have jumped to comclusions to bring up more inlayed rings, but the one ''Pricescope'' found is quite a bit nicer than that
