Hi Guys

I have been on this the forum, gathering as much info as I can for the last 2 months. I have finally decided to the get the Tacori 2620 as my settings. I have about $7500 left for the diamond. I was hoping if I can get some assistance with this.

shape: round
Cut: excellent (pref triple x)
Carat: 1.0-1.20
Clarity: vs2+ (I can settle for a si1, but since im buying online, id feel more safe with a vs2+)
color: G+

cert: GIA pref

Thank you

You have perfect budget for a stone just over 1 ct. Here are a couple that look fantastic.

These both have blue fluorescence, which I find incredibly cool, but it has to be your thing. Confirm the second stone is 100% eyeclean, but both are ags000, so all the vetting has been done for you. They are both can't miss stone and should be awesome performers.

Also... remember to ask for pricescope discount

Thanks Stive85, I not too keen on the strong flour. My girl does go clubbing once in a while and im not sure how she would feel with a glow stick on her ring lol.

Is there a reason you don't want to go down to H? It's nearly impossible to tell the difference between the two. I color is where most people start to see very faint tint.

Main reason, im sticking to to a G/vs2 is that I feel more safe since its a online buy. Also the tacori 2620 halo and band stones are also a G. I m afraid the center stone may stand out and look less white.

My center stone is a GIA J and halo stones are G/H and it is fine. You will absolutely be fine with an H for the center stone. If you stick with GIA/AGS certs, then you're good buying online. You will be able to stretch your budget with an H (and I doubt you'll be able to tell a difference, esp in the Tacori setting). I would stay VS/SI (eye clean) though. :))

This is really nice with a tiny table -- even a little fluoro to boot!

Truth be told, you are much safer buying online with a trusted PS vendor than braving the stores yourself. ;))

I'd get an H from Whiteflash or Good Old Gold, they are Tacori vendors.

Without fluoro, a G VS2 would probably need a budget increase.

The other possibilities are going under a carat, or getting a slightly deep cut that will be a carat but may face up more like 6.3mm.

Pick one thing that you can give up, or increase your budget.

Thinking about genesis diamonds. Anyone have had any experiences there?

I would suggest using a vendor that can provide you with all of the assistance/details that you need. The vendor you mentioned will not be able to do that.

Julie mentioned GOG, as they are a Tacori vendor and can do the whole thing in-house. It makes a lot of sense to do it this way and this is a great suggestion - listen to her advice!

Check these options out (GOG can make you a video, so you can be comfortable with the eye-cleanliness of the stone):

1.03ct, H, SI1

1.06ct, H, SI2 (August Vintage)

Everyone has posted some great suggestions, good job all! :appl:

Stacks, I have had a look for you and as the others suggest, it's going to be a challenge to find something of that size in G VS2 for the budget if unless you can either increase the budget or consider adjusting your colour and or clarity preference. You could definitely consider GIA/AGS graded H colour without visual sacrifice, also SI1 clarity if verified eye clean by a trusted vendor.

Having said that, I did find this one, it might have potential, also if you paid by bank wire, the price might be within reach with the 1.5% discount. I can see inclusions under magnification but it could be eye clean to your specifications if you asked one of the gemmologists to check it out for you. It has faint fluorescence but it's doubtful you or your GF would ever notice it was there, again check with one of the gemmologists at James Allen concerning this if interested. Request an Idealscope image for this diamond if you are interested, it might not be cut to superideal standards but it could be a very nice diamond, an Idealscope image plus vendor input would tell us more.
