Help needed: ideas for setting 6 carat Aqua

I happen to have two sets of emerald melee!! I thought about it. I’m not sure if I like it or not or if I want to use my emeralds for this.

Oh, now you’ve gone and re-ignited my obsession with coloured stone halos... Imagine something along these lines with your aqua and calibre emeralds (or deep sapphires, for a light blue/dark blue contrast)!

I noticed in my image searches, there were several aqua and emerald rings. I think I want a tradition diamond and emerald target ring though....

I think I have decided against FC melee. Obviously, the Yoram French cuts would be to die for, but I think the overall look and ideas I had were bottom line too much of a ring for me. I have more understated, smaller aesthetic.

So this is where I am. I bought six .20 Brian Gavin stones and wound up with 3 H color and 3 I color. Most are VS and one is Si1.

This is what I’m thinking. (It’s hard to play with small diamonds and a long aqua lol, so they got squished up’

I have rounds surrounding my vintage aqua ring. It’s hard to see, but they’re in elevated channels. I’d take more pics but it’s at the bank. I upload lots of old pics on this board. Just an idea. Oh by the way for the Oppenheimer blue you posted above, they used one of my favorite Art Deco designers, Raymond Yard, for their gems. You can look up that designer for aqua, emerald, and other rectangular stines, and get a plethora if ideas.

One more thing, since your stone is very long, I would probably get a more protective setting for it. I think it will make a striking ring whatever you decide.

I’m still sitting on the idea, and haven’t gotten to CADs yet, but I do know I want tab prongs, I would consider a thin bezel around the stone. Thanks for reminding me to protect it. This will be a cocktail ring, not every day.,,

Ok, BG should be getting all of the stones soon.

I’m very slightly worried that it’s going to be too much ring or too dinner ringish, but I know they won’t let me do anything tacky.

I’m just wondering if 6 side stones are too much (but the aqua is long and skinny).

I’ll feel better once I see the CAD.

And then this will have to be it for about a year. Next up would be the emerald and a matching band with the melee I have.

Ok, the stones have been received by BG. I’ve never worked with him before, so I’m am unsure of the process other than they wanted the stones first and then CAD is next.

I am! But this is the first vendor I have worked with where I have sent the stones but don’t have a CAD yet (don’t get me wrong, I trust BG). Emily and I have hardly discussed it— I just sent her that pic of the 7 stones and said “something like this”...

My Aqua from Jeff White, can't recall the stats, however, it is about 6ct, and he has already cut two Morganite traps for the setting I have in mind.

Ok, big reveal. It’s a giant cocktail ring, but I go to at least two balls a year, so this will be perfect for special events like that.
