Help! Opinions on a green sapphire please?

This website sucks, everyone doese what they want and then snitch bitches, posting links, talking trash, I want out of this dinasaur hangout, everyone here is over 60 and have nothing to do but complain and act like security, get a life, if someone normal knows how to delete, please explain

Hmmm well I’m not over 60 and haven’t been complaining but I did post links :eek2: I looked through my account to see how to delete so I could advise but alas I could not find a way to delete or disable the account. I suppose you might have to send an email. If you scroll to the bottom of the page under contact us. Good luck!

Well, I can sympathize with you up to a point, believe me, but you done jumped off the high diving board in an empty pool.

This won't help your sales, at least with these people.

Sometimes it best to bite your tongue, even though you feel you have a legitimate gripe. Just a word of advice from a retired long time gemstone dealer.

Sales?? I was never here for sales, but every snitch bitch that, quotes the rules are, let them have it, my stones are blessed, I can't be here on this platform anymore, there are a few very cool peeps here, very very few, majority sucks.

The point is this. You may lose sales even if you are not here for sales if someone figures out who you are.

That said, good luck to you.

I must say I'm a little sad! I was going to reboot it with some updates in the next few days as I've *tentatively* found the stone I've been hoping for and had also received some photos from gem select of one of the stones that other members suggested. Maybe I'll start a new thread or just leave things be at this point unless the mods can remove this lovely person.

I've also been peeking at this forum since I was 25, and whilst I do have some major old lady energy I don't think I can be quite classed as a moldy oldy just yet at 29 hopefully

Stuff it! I'm going to reclaim this thread anyway!

I heard back from gem select on the stone quite a few of you liked. I got a one line generic response - 'I have inspected this Sapphire myself and can verify that it is a very high quality gem. The video clip we have shows very well how the gem looks in real life.'

They also attached an additional picture and to be completely honest I was definitely very underwhelmed by it. Again I do like dark stones, but this just felt so lifeless. I also feel like it contradicts them saying that it matches the video but maybe that's just me!

If you do can you try and remenber to tag me in
i just love green sapphires remember

See
I saw one when i was ....29
It was the same colour as my eyes
dark but bright green but kinda olive too
it was $4K in 18K
Saddly i just couldn't afford it back then in 2001
I never really got over it
(Hmmm in belongs on the one that got away or what ever that thread is called)
It was a much nicer stone than the one in the ring i have now
But your thread have given me much hope it wouldn't be too hard to replace it
Of course i have a to-do list as long as your arm i must do first

i am so happy to hear you found a stone
my heart wants it to be a green saphire
But i shell love it from affair regardless as green is my favourite colour

Good ! (About reclaiming your thread)

Would you set that in yellow gold ?

I did also have a bit more luck with the Natural Sapphire company. The sales associate has gone above and beyond with helping me so far and has been incredibly kind, patient and not at all pushy. I requested 3 more stones to see and they happily provided multiple photos and videos in different lighting conditions to compare the stones. I know they're by no means trade ideal, but I like some quirks and windows (one of my favorite sapphire rings I've seen is an incredibly overpriced sapphire that is basically a giant window of a stone :roll2:)

The two side stones were mainly for comparison, but the center stone I really love and is giving me the color I was hoping for *fingers crossed*. My return gets to them on Monday and they're going to take more photos of the stone then so that I can compare them side by side and see if it's a genuine size and color improvement.

Video is below for anyone interested!

Yes! It would be set in 18k yellow gold. I haven't figured out quite how I want to set it yet. I'm thinking either a solitaire with a fairly chunky gold bezel and stones set into the side of the ring, a chunky and more classic 3 stone (though I'm not sure that's very me) or potentially a halo (again, not sure if that's me yet!)

Im not a halo girl either
I love the chunky bezel idea but also the three stone

lol! You have given me the confidence to also admit my little old lady tendencies, and I'm in my thirties. :lol-2:

OMG he has never looked better! How is that even possible? :twisted2:

I am going to have to agree... I think that stone may be a bust. "Dark and lifeless" is just how I'd describe it.

Now this looks like it could be exactly what you're after!! Moody and earthy! I look forward to hearing your review on this stone. BTW, I feel like I'm recognizing that as Lauren's hand. Am I right?

I see what you mean, even if darker the stone should look to me a bit velvety. I think you can find better than this. Will keep an eye out for you.

I think that is a beautiful color green sapphire- does it have a slight window? I've seen that color green diamond paired with pink diamonds and it's gorgeous. But I have an over exuberance for pink diamonds as you might notice from my avatar-lol. Anyway, your idea of a chunky 18kt gold ring with that color sapphire would be beautiful. You might want to take a look at DKJ's 18 kt ancient gold. It is such a rich color looking very similar to 22 kt. I think that color gold would really set off an olive green gem. I am having a ring made now in the ancient gold as I love it so much!

Old ladies know what's up! Look at Betty White - what a badass.

I spend my time doing jigsaw puzzles or watching cozy murder mysteries under a blanket with a heat pack. We're moving soon and I couldn't be more excited about working on my flower garden. Kids aren't in my life plan aside from attempting to be a vaguely cool aunt (or aunt with vaguely cool jewelry?) :lol-2:

So glad I'm not the only one who thinks it feels a bit lifeless.

Oh gosh, I don't actually know whose hands I'm looking at but it very well could be Lauren. Roy has been helping me and he has been SO awesome. I know I'm very fortunate to be able to say this but I'd rather overpay for a stone I'm keeping forever when the help and customer service are awesome and the return policy is SUPER straightforward and stress free.

Yes! The color is amazing in the video! I will give an update when I see the side by side hopefully tomorrow :)

It may have a slight window but I'm not concerned about that as long as the color itself feels even throughout the stone. I'm actually embarrassed to post this to a bunch of stone pros but I still always like this ring (minus the price tag!)

The video on the site shows the window even better, it's basically just a giant window at some points  I still can't help loving how the windows make it feel old and a little wonky though and the modern setting balances that. I'm not an antiques girl as much as I may want to be but I like that it also doesn't feel new and perfect. Just my very silly take on windows!

Edit - Also meant to add, I've been debating if this would look good with a muted pink as the accent stones! I'd LOVE to see any pictures you have of the ring you're speaking about.

This is my engagement ring reset and I love the side sapphire reveal and am debating doing something similar. I love blues but don't want to just do the same thing over and over so was debating pinks as a pretty option!

Ok, I'm just going to come right out and say it... can we be best friends? :appl:

I feel like this is how everyone should approach gemstones, jewelry, and art in general. I always tell my friends to buy something that truly speaks to them. If the chemistry isn't there right away, move on. I look at gemstone inclusions this way. It's just another aspect that makes each stone unique! :)

P.S. I also agree about pricing... you're paying for a hands-on approach to buying with vendors like NSC. They'll patiently spend as much time with you as you need to make an informed decision, and will send as many photos and videos from as many different angles and under as many varying light sources as you request. And then they have a great return policy to boot. That's worth something... as opposed to the curt response you received from GemSelect. I'm not ragging on them, but they have very competitive pricing, which certainly doesn't come with any type of frills, such as concierge service.

I've been purging photos recently so I kept mainly the ones that had a more bluish green diamond with pinks, but this should give you a general idea. The top photo has more of an olive green. On the multi ring photo check out the the lower bypass ring pear.centurionmaidi-cb744.jpg14462822_842157162553246_4699914529254095864_n.jpg

A lot of green diamonds and chameleon diamonds are set with pink accent stones to improve the look of the green. And most green/chameleon diamonds are not a super vibrant green.
Take a look at this sold section which is filtered to only show pieces with green or chameleon diamonds, for some more visualizations.
Also, googling 'pink and green diamond ring' brings up some pics.

Sorry for the double post. I know you mentioned using yellow gold, but this one has a pink halo in rose gold and the green center in white gold to make the contrast more obvious. The effect would probably be similar with side stones/accent stones in yellow gold, and the green sapphire with white gold. Unless you want a more subtle pink contrast, of course.
