hello all, i am considering purchasing an F VS2 diamond with the following specs:
Depth: 60.1%
Table: 57%
Crown Angle: 33.5 degrees (Crown Height: 14.5%)
Pavilion Depth: 40.8 degrees (Pavilion Depth: 43%)
Cut: Excellent, Polish: Ex, Symmetry: Ex
I plugged the numbers into HCA and it returned a 0.8 score. This is surprising, given the shallow crown (not within the American Ideal cut class 1A range), which is not compensated for by a deeper pavilion. Can someone pls shed some light on this? Can the HCA score be wrong? Is this really an excellent cut (GIA excellent is a bit wider than AGS, I understand, rightly or wrongly)?
Incidentally, the flourescence on this stone is stated as faint. This does not worry me so much. However, should I expect a discount, given the colour grading? (i''d prefer one without flourescence but haven''t been able to find one that match my other requirements).
Thanks.
