Help to choose diamond on 9k budget

Beautiful choice in diamond and setting! I think they're going to knock your socks off.

Double E, I agree about the proportions, and great find!

Hi all,

This has now been purchased, thank you all for all the help !!

I ended up with changes to the setting and chose this with the Petite prongs -

I was able to negotiate it to the same price as the other setting ($755), which was great !

Will post pictures in a few week !

Excellent - I think that will be one outstanding ring and look forward to seeing the pictures!

Hi Saitek, out of interest so I can compare how much approx. was that diamond as it no longer shows up on WF https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4462553.htm?a_aid=PS

It sound's like I'm basically in the same position you were on Monday and looks like you've done really well with your selection.

My partner is keen on a 6 prong solitaire ring (similar to Tiffany's classic setting yellow gold with the white prongs)
  • Diamond around .9ct
  • Colour G or up
  • I don't have much idea on the other C's but understand cut is very important.
  • Budget including shipping and 10% Tax 10-11k AUD
I was also looking at BlueNile but really grateful I came across your thread and saw the suggestion of looking at White Flash in this price range.

Hey mate,

The diamond was $6,967 USD

I can recommend White Flash thus far. They have been really helpful with any questions I had. I also got a bit of a deal / discount when buying both the setting and Diamond in one transaction. Don't forget your $100 new customer offer and wire transfer discounts =)

Goodluck !

Hi Kim,

Thanks I will do that.

hmm have just been invoiced by FedEx for duty charges
This should have not been charged due to the AUSFTA exemption

Will need to do some chasing up with FedEx and WF

How did you go with the duty charge saitek?

How did you go with the duty charge saitek?

I've received the AUSFTA paperwork copies from WF and sent them to FedEx so they can reassess the duty charges

WF have done all the right things, have been so responsive and helpful. They initially supplied all required documentation with the package. It's just FedEx which didn't take the necessary care in the first place to get it right

Will let you know the outcome

@saitek,
Thank you for that follow up post. I'm glad this worked out with a minimum of hassle. And thank you for your trust!

For others wondering about shipping to Australia, we do provide all the required paperwork for processing according to the Australia/US free trade agreement. As I understand it from our logistics folks, though all the necessary documents are provided with the shipment, Australian customs try to be proactive in pre-clearing shipments before they are physically recieved. As a result, in some cases they miss seeing the necessary documents, thereby creating a glitch. However, it is almost always swiftly corrected with a little nudge on our part.

Hi All,

Just letting you know that FedEx have fixed up the issue with the duties being charged

Ring pictures below!
had to do some ninja snaps while the girlfriend was in the living room!

Thank you for all the help!
Can definitely recommend WhiteFlash for Australian buyers!

The prongs in reality aren't that thick and big, so was very happy with it

Gorgeous!

Just wondering, are you able to see the arrows on a heats and arrows diamond when viewed from the top?

I can't seem to make out the arrows, even under different lighting

Just something that would have been nice

Edit, NVM found the arrows using a camera haha
