Hi guys,

I have a platinum solitaire and would love to get a full eternity, claw set, diamond wedding band. I have been in touch with a fantastic jeweller in Antwerp and he said that the diamond band will cut through the platinum setting of my e-ring. I was devastated when I heard this! ;( Is there anything way to resolve this problem?  Thanks pricescope :wavey:

Get a spacer band. Something thick enough to separate the 2 so that the diamonds in the wedding band do not touch the prongs of the e-ring.

Thanks Stone Cold. Does anyone have some photos of how this will look?

you can get 1.5, 2mm plain rings from lots of places - www.eweddingbands.com comes to mind first - or 1mm bands from various sellers on etsy (www.etsy.com) - just search 'stacker' or 'stacking band' and you should find lots of options.

you will want to get a band of the same metal as your wedding set.

I seem to remember mention of memoire bands sitting low enough not to scratch. Some have also suggested having a ring made with the shank wider on the bottom than the top so that there is a slight gap between the prongs on the engagement ring and the shared prong band. Let me see if I can dig up some old threads.

Your other option is to go with a bezel or bead set band.

ETA: I'll keep looking for the threads, but so far no luck. Meh.
