Being 5ft 1in put it in my head that a dropped waist/trumpet/or mermaid style just wouldn''t flatter me at all. I think it just goes to show that I will definitely have to try on a lot more dresses than what I did- and in many more styles, just to be safe

Dropped waist is all about the torso:leg length ratio. I think that dress is incredibly flattering on you and that is a style you should pursue (but, yes, try on at least one of everything!

Hi kas! I really like the one on the left on you - the aline just seems a little too generic for my taste.

In regards to the silver maggie you posted, I definitely tried that dress on (or another, very similar maggie) - I like her dresses a lot, but the one thing i didn''t like about THAT one was the material of it. It is VERY slinky - almost like the bottom of it is like a satin-y night gown. It''s pretty, but i didn''t think it was as flattering as some of the more structured gowns - for me that is.

I''ll see if I can find a picture for you!

Here''s the silver maggie that you linked - i am definitely larger than you are - I am about 5''5" and I wear a street size 12. However, I am thinnest through the waist, which is why i was surprised when I saw the pictures of me in this dress - it really widened me across the middle

If you look at the material at the bottom, you''ll be able to see how slinky it is - it moves very nicely, but i didn''t think it was too forgiving, figure-wise. I''ll attach the pic of the front and the back for you..

here''s the back of that dresss.....

Just a suggestion for you - I LOVED this very similar maggie that i tried on.....same concept, but definitely more flattering (on me anyway). I''ll attach my picture too so you can see it on a "real" person too.

It''s called the Jewel Ann, and here''s the link - http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?line=m&pageSize=100&page=2&style=J1198

The "jewel" is very similar and can be found right next to the Jewel Ann, and both are on the same page as the Kadence, which is the one you linked.

Best of luck - you''ll look great in anything!

thank you so much for posting pictures and telling me about the fabrics! I was wondering how structured the dress would be. I guess I''ll find out more when I go try some on though.

thanks again!
