HELP with Blue Sapphire Gems Required

TBF I wasn't asking for a refund just because of the sapphire. It was actually because they had our ring for 3 months to carry out repair works. Then they realised they couldn't fix it and had to build an entire new ring. All the while we were running out of the time to have the wedding band tailored to the engagement ring. It caused so much stress. Then they returned it with the included sapphire. And we ran out of time to get the wedding band hallmarked lol. Good times.

hiya I was hoping you'd come back and respond! I do hope you aren't feeling defeated.

Nonetheless, PS recommended : topgems.co.uk is in the uk and has a showroom there perhaps you could take a look in person if you are nearby and ask for something in the size/price you would like.

the natural sapphire company, also PS recommended, is based in New York, however they have a UK number for contact and do claim to have free delivery to uk...perhaps even an outpost here, so could be worth a look or two

In the US its close to sale times now because of thanksgiving next week so other US vendors may suddenly make sense!

I would definitely take a look through loupedetroop.com I have noticed some vendors there are from the UK!!

Also Pricescope has a "preloved jewellery" section which has sapphires so I do think that would be a worthwhile search... one lady has a collection of blue stone ring up..Including sapphire...you could use stone and remove setting

oh dear I'm so sorry I jut went through the list but have missed that, never mind thank you

I’m sorry you’re going through this. My engagement ring also has an 8x6 sapphire. My #1 requirement was that I wanted a lighter colored, clear stone. I did not want a stone that looked navy or hazy. I found my dream stone from James Allen for $670 (£525-ish):

If this jeweler refuses to find a better stone, I’d keep it set with your current for now, and find a loose stone to replace it. The option they gave you is not acceptable for the price you paid. Good luck!
