I'm looking to purchase a loose diamond to be set into a custom platinum setting for an engagement ring. Do you know what the Wholesale/Retail might be for the following diamond?

Also this is a new purchase to me as I'm not a diamond expert by any means. That's why I'm here looking for your advice. I'm a cash buyer. One of the two diamonds are as follows.

I would not buy a stone with that proportions unless there is an idealscope image to verify that there is no leakage.

Use the diamond search link to price your diamond, make sure that the report is set to others as GIA and AGS are consistent in color and clarity grading while other labs are much more inconsistent and thus sold at a discount, usually to the correct grade if the stone is send to GIA/AGS.

I hope the image shows up well enough to analyze. The information you provided is exactly the type of information I'm looking for. Can you please expand to explain why the dimensions would allow leakage? Please let me know if the image shows what you are looking for to determine if this is a good diamond to purchase (leakage). Again, I'm new at this and your information is appreciated. I just don't want to make a bad purchase.

Yap, not promising. The Hearts and Arrows image looks like just stock image and not the actual image of the actual stone, every EGL USA H&A stone has the exact same image regardless of proportions.

This article explains what the numbers are and what the stone will look like, EGLUSA's report lacks the lower half sizes.

This stone will probably look like #9 in the article.

the cutter didn't trim off all the fats on the bottom half of this stone just to be sure it'll make the 1.5ct magic weight.

Can anyone please state what the Wholesale and Retail pricing would be on this diamond?

about $12,000 for a well cut AGS or GIA stone. keep in mind that EGL stones will fetch less dollars for the same grade.

btw; no such thing as wholesale to the public.

Thanks for the info however this is why buying a diamond is close to the same as buying a used car (maybe even worse).

The retail prices, inflated prices, sale prices, appraisal prices, replacement values, half-truths, deceiving information that sounds "so great", never a straight, answer....

This is an EGL USA Diamond, the information is provided for this exact diamond, not a GIA or AGS diamond. I don't have access to the Rapaport etc. and was hoping someone would be able to give at least a "real" price range for what would be fair money for this diamond.

I'm not an expert by any means and just don't want to find out I paid too much. I don't want to find out later that it has a flaw that devaluates it from the means and my lack of expertiese allowed me to be taken advantage of.

Thanks!
