Help with this Asscher - Thoughts on the cutting & Play of-light?

Hi All! I'm hoping to summon the help of @Karl_K @lovedogs @OoohShiny @Matthews1127 @diamondhoarder @gregchang35 @Dancing Fire @kenny and all our fellow step-cut-loving, Asscher-afflicted friends to chime in! If you think of more names of our local experts, please tag them!

So, I was offered a great deal on a Vintage-Style, open-culet Asscher but am having trouble evaluating the video. It's bright, small table and high crown...but looks funny to me somehow.

Not sure if it's the cutting or the lighting or just me. Can't put my finger on it. I'm interested to hear what you all see!

The source is trusted, the price is more than fair and there is a 7-day return policy.

...but something seems weird...like in a busy way maybe? I need your sharp eyes and quick minds to solve this puzzle!

I seriously can't tell if its absolutely Epic or utterly irritating (in a princess-and-the-pea sort of way).

I may have to bite just to see with my own eyes....but PLEASE do weigh in!!!

I personally like it, but I am no expert! It’s a rather large cutlet on bottom and that’s throwing me off a little. But I don’t think it distracts from the beauty! With a 7 day return policy why not try it

That's where I'm leaning right now. Would still love to hear what others see. Do you notice anything other than the large cult (which I kind of like) that you find distracting? Is it just all the glare?

Sometimes I get the sense that, oddly enough, there may not be enough light leakage built into the design? Like it is over-performing and has too little contrast?

...and (because I know someone will ask), I did already ask for an ASET image. Still waiting for the seller to respond.

I saw that too. Not sure what to make of it. I may just have to put my eyes on the real deal. Still hoping @Karl_K and others will chime in with those expert eyes!

see in my aviator the blue on the sides that is what your seeing.
Its a refection of the camera.
This stone in video anyway has "IT" if that holds up in person .....

i really like the stone. i love the culet, the fat windmills.... the way it displays....
it is different to your octavia... and also the RA that you had... so perhaps you have a different base to assess this stone?

Ive only just seen this - love the the look of the stone based on the video. It looks to be incredibly bright right across the diamond with a well balanced step pattern. Love the side view too. Definitely worth a look in person, I can't wait to see the pics

Pulled the trigger this morning! It should Ship Tuesday, So I'll be able to report back to you all late next week.

Meanwhile, I adjust the lighting for the video and was able to get a better look. The glare was throwing me off.

He has some great cutters and his prices are super competitive (obviously). He could probably cut whatever you want.

Never thought I’d be interested in a lab diamond… Until I saw that price point.

I’m way over budget right now. So… I probably shouldn’t buy it anyway.

As much as that is tempting, I have already one in the works and finishing soon. So, I could not justify the change in stone and setting.
