Help with this Asscher - Thoughts on the cutting & Play of-light?

It’s definitely chonky!! :kiss2::kiss2::kiss2: And has a ton of potential but I think you have to see it in person.

I hope it’s the one. I knew the minute I saw mine that it was special (though not chonky and has thin windmills, but has mesmerized me every since I got it),

it is interesting that he offered you something off line- you must be a VIP. Lololol.

I used the Jedi mind trick: Asking politely for a heads up if such a thing were ever cut ;-)

@gregchang35 … did you really have to suggest I start designing another piece??? Now look at what happened!

I hold you responsible. Damn you! LOLOLOL!

This is just a preliminary that came to me with morning coffee… Now I may have to keep the stone after all!

I’m just so glad— I can’t wait to hear what you think! Love the design for it, you’re totally becoming the source for men’s superbly cut asscher rings.

Pulled the trigger this morning! It should Ship Tuesday, So I'll be able to report back to you all late next week.

Meanwhile, I adjust the lighting for the video and was able to get a better look. The glare was throwing me off.

Yeah this version of the video says it all . It is a spectacular stone so happy for you.

Thank you!!!!

…but it’s only with the help of Caysie’s brilliant craftsmanship!

Like I’ve said before, I’m just a concept guy.

CvB is the genius who can make my flights of fancy into tangible realities!!!!

@Dr_Diesel
you definitely have the concepts for your rings!
Love how you “come up” with them!
That is Jsut as much fun as finding the stones!!!

Totally!!! And far less expensive lololol!

I think it's has a lot of potential. I look forward to seeing what you think of it in person.

It's a lab diamond? I've really starting digging lab diamonds. I've seen quite a few of them in person now.

Who graded it?

I especially did the price point of lab diamonds!

IGI graded

Both are cued for production!

Ah, I hadn’t, and I am not sure how much more my jaw can drop! Clearly, I need to up my PS game and figure out how to do that thing where I get notified of your posts.

Those stones!! And Yoram’s calibre sets!! Dead. I think that killed me.

…so maybe not just Asschers Lololol!

Definitely not just Asschers!!

Awww! Thank you! All of you guys. I can’t tell you how much your encouragement means to me!

Are we allowed to share our IG accounts here?

BTW…I knew something was missing on that sketch. This one is better: exposed the pavilion

Oh, and Alex just informed me that this stone is an exact replica of a very old (true antique) Asscher in his collection.

He says it’s a great stone and also suggested I not expect it to perform at the same level as Yoram’s precision-engineered “modern vintage” stones. It’s a true-to-form replica of an antique rather than a modern interpretation of one.

“For old cuts, it’s top-notch for sure!”

I’m sincerely sorry @gregchang35.

I didn’t mean to stir up those kinds of feelings. This design work feels as though it has taken on a life of its own lately - and stuff just keeps happening in a way that feels rather surreal for me. Maybe I just got caught up in the excitement and didn’t pause to reflect on how it might make others feel.

It’s true, I do have a lot of contacts. I was a gem collector for many years, traded them as a hobby and forged a lot of relationships and connections.

The upshot to that is that I’m happy to share and be a resource for others.

The last thing I ever wanted was to evoke anything negative (if I’m reading it accurately? …not sure if you’re teasing or serious). Perhaps I was too caught up in my own excitement to reflect on how others might feel.

For whatever it’s worth, if you do ever want to source a stone or a design, please let me know. I will be happy to arrange whatever you wish at my cost.

Forgive my missteps. Please know I am happy to share in my good fortune.

Just consider me a resource. I mean it. Reach out to me any time and I’m here for all of you guys.

You’ve been kind, thoughtful and supportive ever since I’ve been on this forum - and I’m just an enthusiastic newbie here.

I owe you considerable thanks for the kindness you’ve offered. It has been noticed. Please allow me the opportunity to reciprocate if I may.

Also, please feel free to hit me up on IG and we can even arrange a phone call if you’d like. I want nothing more than to make things right. There may be more context that could help put things into perspective.

Best,
Dr. D.

Ah- no--- no negativity at all. Sorry, if it came across that way. i was hoping my LOLOLOLOL... was a way of showing that.

It is all in good fun...If anything, i am in awe at how you precure and set your stones. Your eye is ever creative and astute. It is amazing to see how you have, in a short space of time, honed in your 'eye' for the beauties that you have collected.

Am sure you can share IG accounts, mine is the same as my handle here. :-)
I will try and find you on IG as well

Oh good! I’m so relieved!!!

So hard to read between the lines with text.

Kind and generous as always. Thank you @gregchang35 !!!

If you are like me, and are really loving lab diamonds due to price point and beauty (both!), Dr. Diesel, going forward (not for this very unique diamond) I would recommend asking for G-Cal graded lab diamonds. Having worked at Wolf-CBI we did a lot of lab comparisons and even submitted a fleet of diamonds to GIA, AGS and G-CAL simultaniously. It gave me some unique insights. And since Wolf-CBI also carries lab diamonds, I do strongly recommend G-Cal graded lab diamonds. And it is what I would buy for myself. And what I would recommend anyone looking for a lab diamond.

Will post the usual ASET photos, videos, etc in the next few days. Here’s a teaser:

Ummm. So. Yeah… @Karl_K

It’s “okay” …I guess…
ut oh
But the again you have an Octavia for comp and had an RA so it may not be optimized enough for you or its not your cup of tea or its just not that good and im wrong.
Its contrasty but so far I'm not seeing anything that bad.
How it dances in motion will tell the rest of the story.
But if you jut want to tell me its awful I would believe ya because your seeing it in person.

Lol!!

I was TOTALLY joking. I thought the pictures would indicate that was the understatement of the year! I’m sincerely sorry. I didn’t mean to worry you. I guess good-natured teasing is sometimes hard to perceive in text!

It’s mind-blowing! Shockingly good! You were spot on, my friend! Couldn’t have been more right. This one definitely has “IT“!!!

The ASET is pretty amazing too. I’ll post pics in the next few days.

Blows the RA out of the water.

The Octavia… Well, that’s an Octavia. They don’t belong in the same basket IMO.

Did you check out the teaser video I posted?

This is ABSOLUTELY my cup of tea!!!
