I love Pricescope and have since the minute I set foot in the door 3 years ago...there are so much more to diamonds than the masses think and I love all of the unusual aspects that make them what they are...just like people!

Oh and John...does this earn me any sort of diamond prize?

Conragtulations, Mara. Belle tried to organize a tribute to you. You should know that your 10,000th posting has been on her mind for a while. I think we may all be too individualistic to be joined in a project, but if we could have been herded together for anyone, it would have been for you. Or maybe Leonid. Or Irina. Possibly Garry or Dave (oldminer). But you''re good, too. And you''re a good mommy to Portia.

it cracked me up when john told me that multiple people have been discussing the upcoming 10k number...i had absolutely no idea! in fact, last week i was surprised to realize i was not that far from 10k and then i forgot about it again.

actually mrs. salvo...according to PS stats, i only average about 10 posts a day if you can believe it!

Yes, when Belle contacted me with some words for you, my first thought was WOW, the gal''s got opinions.

Mara, you have a great mind. Your posts are honest, forthright, coherant, to the point, interesting and sometimes downright scary

Hey Mara, just curious, how DO you post an average of 10 a day??! I''ll spend an hour on here, replying to a ton of threads, and yet my average is only 3 per day! Ah well. I''ve only been here at PS for 6 months, I''ll race you and see if I can get 10000 before the 3 year mark!!!

Back in the day it wasnt uncommon for both mara and I to post 40 posts in a day just in good natured bickering with each other
She wasnt posting much for a while her posts per day were in the 25-30 range for a while and mine in the same range.

It is easy to do 20-40 quality posts a day.
These days there are far more people answering questions and often its answered before I get to them where in the past it moved at a slower pace.

When I was a newbie... Mara''s post quickly attracted my attention as ones to read; both from a diamond & jewelery perspective but also from a life perspective.

There are a lot of great people on Pricescope. Mara can be counted as one of the select group who make up the best of the greats...

It does seem like things move much faster, even from just 6 months ago when I was new. I see your point about having things answered by someone else by the time you get on. I usually come on once in the morning (not much going on), then in the evening (too much going on), alot of times a thread grows so much over the course of the day, I have to decide if I feel like spending 15 minutes just to read everything! But if a thread really catches my eye, I''ll go for it...

F&I...white off rice is a classic...yep. i couldn''t even be offended with that one, not when there were so many good uses for it to be applied to.

yep strm is right...in the ole days there was alot of bantering back and forth definitely going on between those of us regulars that were here! my average post ratio definitely was higher when there weren''t as many PS''ers...30-40 posts was not unusual! 10 actually seems low to me now.

it's true, i was planning a commemorative tribute and called on several ps'ers to help out. it didn't take me long however, to realize that the occasion might be better served by allowing everyone here to do what they do best and respond individually.
you should know that i did recieve many wonderful and kind (creative and funny) regards over that last several days from the great members of ps. i hope they, and others, will all stop by and share those special thoughts here.
