I have no idea whats going on but my BF is up to something. Earlier when we got home from Target there was a UPS sticky on the door with his name on it. I didn''t pay any attention to it, just handed it over and assumed it was for a school book from Amazon or something that he normally orders.

Later he asks to see the computer, but I was busy eating my dinner and didn''t think anything of it. I leaned over to see what he was looking at, and he freaks out and tells me that I have to "move my booty over to the other side of the couch." WTF? So I''m wiggling around wondering what the crap he''s doing...Finally I get the computer back and look up the browser''s history, and the UPS "Change Date of Delivery" page is on there...

Very suspicious. He didn''t want me to see when it arrives? Did he think I''d get a hint as to what it is? I''m so confused. I''ve been dropping major hints as to what I want for my b-day linky but it''s not until April. Over two months away. The thing is there are only 4 sizes left in the ring, and the smallest one (7) is probably going to be slightly too big, but there do seem to be limited quantities. So I''m just not sure what he''s up to...But he''s piqued my curiosity and he knows it. The little jerk.

ooh sneaky i hope its a ring!
and i hope when you get it you update faster than erin haha

Hahahaha!!!No worries in that department. I don''t have any jobs to get in the way, and I can take my laptop to class, and post to PS from there. Heh.

I hope it''s the Tiff ring, although I''d never ever turn down an e-ring...

Sounds exciting!

And I don't want to thread-jack Erin's thread since she's now posted her story (!!), but the shoes I got are Pounce, by Carlos Santana.

I think they're so gorgeous.

Oh, and I'm totally with you on the high heel addiction.

OH MY GOD! WE NEED TO GO SHOE SHOPPING TOGETHER...

GUESS WHAT THIS IS? Pounce! Carlos Santana! Only in the multi color cloth that I bought and fell in love with about 7 months ago. I''ve been eying the red ones. They are SO HOT. And I need some pretty red shoes... You really need to take pics!!

And I don''t mind threadjacks on my own threads. They kind of make me happy. Especially when it comes to jacking that involves shoes!

I also have a thing for shoes, but sadly the shoes I love are $$$$$$.

My favs are Marc Jacobs, Kate Spade, and Michale Kors. I can wear just about any of their shoes and they feel wonderful right out of the box. I have this pair of pink patent leather heels from Kate Spade that are to die for! And these other blue Marc Jacobs ones with butterflies on the toes. I don''t think I could decide which are my favorites.

YES!!

I have been wanting these shoes FOREVER, and you can''t even imagine how happy I was when I walked into Macy''s today and there were on the clearance rack in my size (ok, well actually, I bet you are one of the few people who CAN imagine that..lol). I got them for around $30!! The first time I saw them I saw the silver ones and totally wanted them, then I saw the red ones and have been coveting them for awhile. Even if they didn''t go on sale I was going to get them soon.

I hear you there, sister! I love Stuart Weitzman shoes. My BF bought me a pair for Christmas a few years ago.. that''s when I knew for sure that he was a keeper. ;)

Ok, being on a student budget the only shoes I can buy now are more in the $ to $$ range. I got the Guess heels for $50, on sale from $100. And I bought the Pounce heels when I was working at a shoe store and got them for about $50 as well with my discount. So I''m definitely a bargain shopper.

Unfortunately I can''t seem to find much in the way of $$$$$$ shoes that are here in town for me to try on, but I do remember these black velvet Stuart Weitzmans that I LOVED a few years back.
39.gif
But couldn''t afford them. BF has already said that I''m not allowed to have an credit cards when we get married because he doesn''t want to be paying off all of my shoe bills
14.gif
.

But I plan on having at least one each of: Kate Spade, Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik, Marc Jacobs, Cynthia Rowley, Stuart Weitzman, etc. before I die. I''ll probably have to buy them on sale, because I definitely won''t be a millionaire.

I knew BF was a keeper when he bought me these heels that are more like "sex in a shoe" from ALDO when we were first dating...So I know what you mean Star.

Feel free to post pics of heels ladies!

But for now, I''m going to bed.

I''m totally a budget shopper as well, which is why I was so thrilled that I found these today on sale!

Here''s a quick picture in my terrible kitchen lighting. The red in the picture looks really dark and dull, but I guarantee they are much more vibrant and pretty in person. I''ll have to take some daytime shots when the sun is out.

These are the Stuart Weitzman shoes BF got me, except mine are black.

They're GORGEOUS, people literally STARE at them when I wear them. They make me feel like a princess. :)

ETA: This photo does them no justice.

Do you guys ever check for sales at bluefly.com? They''ve got designer shoes there and *sometimes* you can get a pretty good deal.

Also, I want to know what''s being delivered!! Give me your BF''s email and I''ll ask him.

I look at Blue Fly and Zappos! I can lose hours and hours at Zappos.

Since this thread has been officially hijacked I won''t feel bad about telling my favorite shoe story ever here. Please note that I may have added a few overly dramatic details along the way but they are all for a good cause. A few years back Kate Spade had these amazing satin wedges out. They were white with what looked like pink, purple, green, etc paint splatters on them. I loved those shoes. I needed those shoes. I went into the Kate Spade store and tried them on. It was love at first step. They fit me perfectly and were incredibly comfortable. Then I looked at the price - THAT was most certainly NOT comfortable. I couldn''t justify spending $450 on a single pair of shoes, no matter how perfect. Sadly I handed them back to the Sales Associated and vowed to visit "my" babies as often as possible.

When I left the store I couldn''t stop thinking about them. Two weeks later I decided to stop by and try them on again. I thought that maybe I had built them up in my mind so much that I would be disappointed in them the second time - there was no way they would be as wonderful as I had remembered. Except they were. Sigh. I loved them even more the second time! I visited them a few more times, each time falling more in love. One day about four weeks since my most recent visit I decided that if I loved these shoes that much that I should just buy them. A ramen diet for a few months wouldn''t kill me and how often do you come across shoes you love that much?

The next morning I got up, trembling, and headed to the store to buy them. When I got there I heard the worst news possible - they were sold out. Not just sold out, but discontinued and had gone on big sale three weeks prior. It was like someone had stabbed me in the heart! I begged the sales associate to call all of the other Kate Spade stores in the country but none had even a single pair left. Whaaaaaaaaaaa!

I raced home and started looking online. Surely Zappos, Gotham City, or maybe someone on eBay had a pair. Nope, nope, and no way jose! There would be no Kate Spade Satin Wedges for Erica.
7.gif

Fast forward two and a half years. During that time I had searched for the shoes but never found them anywhere online. I was pretty much becoming resigned to the fact that the perfect shoes would never be mine. I finally did a last ditch search on Zappos and guess what came up?! MY SHOES!!!! What was even better is that they were marked at just $50! I danced through the house gleefully. No one else could imagine how happy I was at that exact point.

To make an already wayyyyy too long story a bit shorter, I now own the shoes for $45, including tax and shipping, thanks to some special discount codes for Zappos that I had been saving. I still love those shoes more than I can say. They are perfect with jeans and a cute top, and since they have so many colors in them I can wear them with pretty much everything.

Of course, now I can''t find a photo of the shoe online but I''m off to search more.

You have GOT to post a picture!! With a story like that...WE NEED PICTURES!!!

I have a story that's similar...but I'll have to write it later because I have to leave for class in 12 minutes...

And I've seen the Carlos Pounce in real life, and they are so much brighter...And lovely!

There was a Macy''s commercial link!(they''re around 17 seconds in and then the little girl is wearing them 28 seconds in) that had these amazing green peep toe pumps that I absolutely fell in love with. So I figured that the Macy''s in town would have them here right?

WRONG.

I went to the Macy''s and asked a nice sales associate about the shoes that were in the newest shoe commercial. She didn''t know so she pulled the manager out from the back. Like any ol'' stupid guy manager, he didn''t realize how serious I was about wanting these shoes. He said he''d ask his peeps (marketing people) about the commercial, but that he hadn''t seen it but he would look into it for me, and get back to me the next day. So he took my number. And I never heard from him again.

Being the OCD freak I am, I went home and began my search on the internet. I searched EVERYWHERE because I had no idea what brand they were, I didn''t know ANYTHING about them. All I had was this one commercial. So I was searching brand websites, Steve Madden, ALDO, Jessica Simpson, Kenneth Cole, GUESS, Nine West, BCBG etc. Then I started with the big websites, Zappos, shoes.com and I came across piperlime. But I still didn''t know anything about them except the color and a vague idea of the style. I began to think I had imagined the damn things, until I saw the commercial again. Which, luckily, gave me a new wind.

So finally I googled "Macy''s green pumps" and I found a girl''s blog who had seen the same commercial that I had, and fallen in lust with the very same shoes that I was looking for. Only she was on the east coast and wrote that she was going to search for them in the Macy''s in Pentagon City, because they didn''t have them in her city or the next closest city. So I eagerly awaited her return, and low and behold she had found them.
23.gif
So she posted a new blog with pictures and I decided to join vox so I could message her, which I did and I got the whole story. So as soon as I got the brand (Anne Klein and the style name-I don''t remember what that was!) I went on a google rampage and found the shoes on Macy''s site-but in black/ivory and black/black. Anne Klein''s site didn''t have them. No one seemed to have them!

Then I went to Piperlime again. The one shoe store that hadn''t been around for even a year yet, had the shoes. In ONLY ONE SIZE.

MY SIZE.

$90.

I had $95 dollars in my bank account. But I ordered them right there on the spot. I had been through so much, a good 12 hours(NOT JOKING) searching on the internet-how could I not buy them? Justification is a wonderful thing.

But the order didn''t go through. I went back to search for the shoes again. THEY WERE GONE. I couldn''t find them. Seemed like they had just disappeared off the site. So I called customer service, almost hyperventilating. She didn''t have any record of the shoes either, but then she found them, in the ordered part and "waiting to be shipped" part of my shopping cart. WHEE-UH WHEE-UH WHEE-UH...ahhhhh...

I had bought THE LAST PAIR. The last pair in my size and the last pair they had in stock. Talk about fate. I was meant to have these shoes.

And only a week before my birthday. They came on a Friday, the last working day before my birthday, and my BF had promised he would be here to get them. HE WENT TO A FAST FOOD PLACE WHEN THE GUY WAS TRYING TO DELIVER THEM.
23.gif
29.gif

Blah.

So I had to get them on Monday and couldn''t wear them on my birthday. But instead BF felt really bad (I had lost sleep over these shoes after all) and ended up buying me a pair of glittery silver heels to wear on my birthday instead. And I got them on Monday.
9.gif

I really hope I never go through THAT again. So I feel you Erica. I was so determined to have these shoes...I probably would still have been looking in 2 more years for them if I hadn''t managed to get my mitts on them.

Wow...long post. Congrats to all of you who read it! Also, as a note, I''ll give Piperlime my $$$ before any other sites because of that mess. They probably saved me years of shoe torment.

***************************

And as an update, I still have no idea what he''s ordered. I just know that it didn''t come today. I still think he''s up to something. And I still have no idea what it is...

But the Tiffany''s tsav ring would totally go with my green pumps!

ive worn the same sneakers everyday for the last 3 years...yes even to go out dancing
i am soooo lame lol but they have this neat springy thing in the heel
they are supposed to be for runners (which i hate doing) but i think they look neat and maybe people will at least think i am a runner if i wear them haha

yeah thats my shoe lol

jroshoe.jpg

Hahah, Smurfysmiles, you crack me up! I''ve got about a dozen pairs of shoes, but 98% of the time I wear my running shoes (which I also never run in!)--mine are blue and silver Sketchers and this is my 3rd pair of the same exact shoe, I think? I guess that makes me boring but I loooooove them!

I can''t do heels--a few years ago, I slipped on some really thick ice and sprained an ankle, both knees AND dislocated my kneecap. Ever since then, even tiny 1" heels are pure torture after about 10 minutes. I get the worst aches in my ankle, and eventually in my kneecaps. Normally I don''t mind, since I''m mostly a jeans & sweatshirt chick anyway, but for work and going out, I look longingly at all the cute shoes the other women can wear and just think of how much it would hurt if I wore them!
14.gif

Awww Smurfy...What's funny is that I have tons of gorgeous heels (probably about 40 pairs in all colors but orange, 11 of silver) and I usually wear 1 of 5 shoes on a daily basis:

1. Green Crocs
2. Blue Mammoth Crocs (they have fuzzy warm stuff on the inside)
3. $150 snow boots from REI (We get next to no snow, but they keep my feet warm, and when my feet are warm, I'm warm. And I got them to wear in Hyde Park, NY)
4. Sketchers Biker sneakers in blue/black/gray
5. Flip flops

I've probably worn 10-15 pairs of all of the heels that I own. The same ones get worn all of the time. The other thing that's funny is that BF has said that I have to have worn all of my shoes at least once (out and about, not around the house
7.gif
) if I want to take them when we move out of state. And we'll have to move out of state in a few years when he gets his PhD.

Believe it or not Gwen, but I feel your pain. I have a nasty issue with my right knee, when I was about 11 I decided it would be a great idea for me to try to play volleyball in rollerblades. NOT A GOOD IDEA. My knee twisted so that the top of my thigh was facing east and my shin was facing north. And it hasn't been the same since then. Recently it's been getting even weaker and I even have problems going up stairs. So when I do wear heels, I wear them when I'm going to be sitting a lot, which explains why I've worn so few. Lol.

So ladies, how about some cute ballet flats? Have you tried any of those?

ETA: Smurfy do you have an ipod nano for the Nike+? I think that is so cool. I was going to get a pair of the Nike+ but the ones I wanted were sold out in my size...

Volleyball in rollerblades?!! Hahahahha....ahhh, youth.

By the way, I forgot to mention it originally, but I love the ring you want for your birthday!! And it would totally look kickin'' with those green heels.

Hyde Park, NY? Not "New Hyde Park"... but Hyde Park?

That is my hometown! Other people know it exists?!?! Haha!!

Sorry, I just thought it was cool! Hehe.

I will tell you about my new love affair with ballet flats... Originally, didn''t think they were too cute - but then my sister had a pair of red ones that were to DIE for, and I was hooked. They''re from Naturalizer - I can''t find a pic online - but they''re super cute and super comfortable! The best part is my sister paid $60 for them, I got them a month later for $25 - who doesn''t love a deal?

Another advantage of the ballet flat - I found a pair that look exactly like my favorite "sexy" shoes - Kenneth Cole, 4 inch, black very pointy toe heel - that have a kitten heel on them, so they''re technically flats, and my feet thank me when I''m wearing them.

I have the same problem - I used to be able to wear heels all the time, but in my old age of almost 24 I can only wear them sitting, too! But, I''ve found substitues for most of my favorites - and BF is happy, too, because I''m still shorter than him (I''m 5''4, he''s 5''9, so I catch up to him in heels!) So, everyone is happy!

I have a story about these shoes I had to have, but unfortunately it doesn''t have a happy ending like Erica''s or Freke''s.

My BF and I were in Macy''s at Valley Fair in San Jose. While looking at the shoes, I came across these BEAUTIFUL Stuart Weitzman''s ON SALE for around $70 (marked down from $200+!). There was only ONE pair and it was in my size! I put it on and it was amazing, even the BF commented on how cute they were (he usually says all shoes look the same to him, but these were really cute).

Unfortunately, one of the heels on the shoes was all scuffed up, like the leather was actually coming off and there were lots of black marks. I knew I couldn''t get them like that unless they gave me a big discount, then I would take them in to a shoe repair place to get them fixed. Well they said they couldn''t give me a discount since they were already on sale (jerks).

So I said fine, do any of the other Macy''s in the area have the same pair. He said he''d look. So we stand there and wait for him to look them up. After a few minutes, he said "there are only 2 other pairs of this shoe in your size in the state of California. One is is Pasadena (over 350 miles away) and the other is at the Stanford mall (an hour away).

Then I felt a little sad because I thought I wouldn''t have another chance to get them because the BF and I had other plans for a little later in the afternoon and I didn''t want to ruin them by saying we had to go to Stanford for a pair of shoes. But bless his little heart, he knows how important these things are to me and said, as we were walking to the car, "why don''t we go to Stanford and find your shoes?" I was so elated! He''s such a great guy!

So we speed off to Stanford to find my shoes. We get there and search all the racks for the one pair in my size, and find them! I was so excited again! We take the one shoe up to the salesguy and say we want it''s mate. He disappears, is gone for awhile, then comes back bearing bad news. He said he couldn''t find the match, and that he''ll go look again. Went back, no luck. Then he said maybe it got put out on the rack, lets look for it. He and my BF start scouring the many many racks trying to find the other shoe will I stand there almost ready to cry.

The both looked over all the racks twice and didn''t find it. The salesguy finally said to leave my phone number and he''d call me if they found it.

I never heard from him.
8.gif

After a day or so of waiting to hear from him I looked them up online, but they were full price online and I couldn''t spend over $200 on a pair shoes. Oh well.

This is them, except the ones I wanted had a camel colored heel rather than the dark brown shown in this picture.

swbowgest.jpg

Gwen-I don''t know how BF would take it if you emailed him. He already hates that I''m a total snoop, and he''d know I''m onto him if I let you do that...Ugh. Don''t get me wrong, I still want to. And I''m a total idiot for wearing rollerblades and trying to play volleyball. That was probably the worst idea EVER. And my second favorite color is green, but I''m super picky about the shade of it. I''m not so picky about blue. Heh.

I really don''t think I should go look on Bluefly for shoes. I need to save my money for food and other necessities...

Bubbly! Yes, Hyde Park! I went to the CIA for about 9 months. Have you ever gone over there for dinner or anything? I think it would be so awesome to get married in the main hall, but I''m sure it would cost a FORTUNE. You''re so lucky to have lived there. I loved it. Snow, humidity, 2 hours from NYC, great food...everything. Even having to go to Poughkeepsie for groceries. Lol.

SJG You should take a picture of your Naturalizers and the Kenneth Coles! I have about 7ish pairs of ballet flats, but I haven''t gotten around to taking pictures of them yet. My favorite pair is from Tribeca by Kenneth Cole (another pair from piperlime) and they''re lime green (a really obnoxious bright shade) and SO COMFORTABLE. I wear them when I want to have some semblance of cuteness on my feet and can''t deal with wearing heels. I''m 5''2 and the BF is 5''9, so I don''t really have much of a problem wearing heels, especially because very few are over 3.5 inches. It''s the one reason I don''t mind being short.

Awww Star...that sucks. I''m sorry. You never know, you could find them again someday...How long ago was this?

Ohh, the CIA! So you like to cook? Hehe. Actually, having been raised in Hyde Park, believe it or not, I have NEVER been to the CIA! I know, it''s a shame! I hear amazing things about it though... so hopefully one day I get there!

I love Hyde Park, as well. I actually miss it a lot sometimes. But fortunately, I only live about 25 min from there now and my parents are still there.

Ohh and what''d ya think about Poughkeepsie aka Po-town... lol... some parts are nice while others are, well... uh... not so nice. Haha.

I still find it so fascinating that I found someone who''s been to my hometown! Ahh!

I''m wearing these shoes at work today! How funny, they are some of my favorites since they go with almost everything. I have a pair I''m obsessing over right now...will find a pic to post.

Hey Bubbly! I''ve been known to cook on occasion. I was there for the Baking and Pastry Associate''s degree though because I already have one in Culinary Arts. Someday I''ll probably make wedding cakes for a living. Right now I''m getting a BA to please my parents. You have to go to the CIA. It''s a gorgeous campus. And you should find out how much it costs to get married there. Heh. For Destination wedding knowledge.

We used to stumble across the road and get wasted at that bar that''s right across I-9 from the school.

Po-town-pretty ghetto in most parts. We pretty much stuck to restaurants that were on I-9 and to the mall. Where are you living now? I loved going to Rhinebeck, I thought that was such a gorgeous little town, and they had the best sushi place.

Ness!! Post a pic! I don''t have any shoe obsessions at the moment...Otherwise I''d be a lot poorer dang it.

I''ll get pictures tomorrow night - dear BF won''t be home so he won''t think I''m nuts for taking pictures of my shoes!!! He just doesn''t understand.

You definitely need ballet flats with color - there''s nothing better. And as far as I''m concerned, red goes with everything. My idea was further cemented by What Not to Wear praising red shoes as a pop of color!

Oh, I''ll have to dig the Kenneth Coles out - they were really mean to my tootsies last time I wore them, so they were punished!
31.gif

I''m laughing so hard at this thread!

A) I can''t wait to find out what your guy is being so secretive about!

B) The shoe thing cracks me up! I love looking at classy heels but don''t own any. I''m a nurse and live in Asics running shoes (and yes, I have several pairs that I run in, too
1.gif
)
And like Freke, I *love* my Mammoth Crocs-- pink with fleece lining! And if it''s spring/summer or fall I''m in on of my gazzillion pairs of flip flops. Winter is for my Pumas.

Now, if we''re talking purses, that''s a whole other can of worms!!

I''ll definitely do some research on wedding costs there! Hehe!

Bar across from the school... hmm... Hobnobbin Pub? Or Shenanigans? That place has changed names so many times, I don''t even know what it is these days! haha. But I believe that''s the location you''re talking about.

I live in Wappingers Falls, about 25 min south of Hyde Park. If you''ve been to the Poughkeepsie Galleria Mall, it''s like 5 min south of that, if that.

Ah, Rhinebeck! I absolutely LOVE the village. BF and I were actually talking about which village we''d love to live in if we stay in this area and that is our top choice! I just love everything about it!!
