With listkeeper change over it always bring out curiosity in how you top 10ers (and top 20ers even!) are doing! Come, update us! Particularly our top 3-5!

Ok, I'll bite.

I don't have too much to report.. I have a pretty firm timeline for this year and I've now picked out a ring design and told SO my diamond preferences. Now the waiting begins for SO to buy a ring and choose a date .

Hmm feeling a bit meh about it because it's pretty certain that we will engaged by the end of the year so I can just enjoy the time beforehand and cruise along.

Magpie, I'm sure you will get much more excited! I'm kinda the same way right now, just cruising along. Not really anxious anymore because I know all the things that need to happen before we can get engaged. However, once all those things fall into place, I'm sure my anxiety and LIWitis will flare up BIG time!

Things are still about the same with BF and I. We just celebrated our 5 year anniversary this week. My present is something jewelry related, but of course I haven't decided yet. I was going to get a pair of pearl studs, but after a few people posted their earring jackets from ID Jewelry, I may want those instead. So, I emailed them and am waiting for a response before I decide ;) I'm about to finish up the teaching job I was contracted for last fall. I have one week left of that and then I will have to go back to subbing. Though, there aren't many weeks of school left and with testing just around the corner, not many teachers will be out. So, I don't know that I will get many jobs anyways.

However, the most exciting part is that I really think I will have a job in the fall. The girl that was hired last fall instead of me hasn't been doing so great and her contract is not getting renewed. So, her spot is open at the school. It's a little bittersweet for me because she is my friend and I do want good things for her. But, I also want a job myself. BF's stepmom told me that I shouldn't look at it as though I am getting HER job, I should look at it as though I am just getting MY job back.

The assistant principal had my yearly performance review and it went great. During the meeting, she said that there was a possibility that they would have an opening because of their enrollment numbers, but that she wouldn't know until late April. However, she said she didn't want me to go to too many interviews in the district until she knows if there will be a position, because if more than one school recommends me to the Board for a position, then the Superintendent makes the decision about where I will teach and she doesn't want to take that risk. So, she said she is trying to speed the process as much as possible, but there's not a whole lot that she can do.

So, all of this means that once I get a job, BF and I will finally be able to get a house of our own and finally get away from his crazy mother. Then we can finally get engaged! I'm hoping for a proposal by the end of the year, but it really depends on when we find a house. I'm sure once I sign a contract for a job, we will start seriously looking and scheduling showings. But, it could still take some time to find what we want.

Since I have been on spring break this week, I have had way too much time to look at diamonds and rings. I really wish we could get the ring now and just wait to get engaged because I have found so many awesome diamonds and I'm terrified that they will get snatched up! I think BF knows that I would seriously bug him to see, wear and stare at the ring all the time though, which is why I think he doesn't like this idea.

Hope to hear from some more top ten ladies!

Happy Anniversary! Can't wait to see what you choose! And yay for fall job opportunity! I agree with your BF's stepmom, you can't look at it as taking HER job, that won't help anyone. She had her chance and obviously didn't live up to their expectations. Now you get a turn to try! Goodluck!

House hunting can be seriously stressful but as long as you go in with a list of must haves and a budget AND STICK TO THEM, it's doable (assuming you're list is reasonable for the area/price range you're in).

I'm looking at something close to the Vatche Royal Crown with sidestones and slightly different prongs. I'm hoping that because I know it won't be in the first half of the year that my anticipation will build up closer to the time :)).

Ooooo...pretty. I love the Vatche Royal Crown (or anything similar!).

I love curved prongs and it took me months to find a store here that carries something similar to the Royal Crown. No stores carry Vatche here and SAs found it difficult to grasp that the setting was just as important to me as the diamond.

Yeah, I have found that too. Most people don't understand that the whole ring's look is determined by the setting. I don't care how gorgeous the stone is, if you put it in an low quality setting, it ruins the look!

Haha i'm sure in later months we will have 'I'm so excited' etc posts!

Are you doing anything special for your anniversary? Oops mine is coming up soon and we still haven't decided where we're going or what we're getting each other

Good luck with the open position, I hope you get it :)) Do you know what kind of house you will be looking for?

Agreed! So many of them are too chunky or the prongs overwhelm the diamond on the top which really defeats the purpose of having a diamond at all.

Mmhm! Good for you sticking up for yourself! Can't wait to see the final product!

We didn't really do anything special for our anniversary. We just had a cozy night in. :)

Right now we are just looking at modest houses for our area. Probably something between 1100 and 1500 square feet. We are definitely moving out of our metropolitan area though and into a surrounding county and hopefully we can get an acre of land with the house. We also don't want a fixer upper. Something that needs a little work here and there might be okay, but we're really looking for a house that is basically move in ready. Right now, our list of must haves is pretty small. I want a nice kitchen and two bathrooms. BF wants an acre and a garage. Though, BF is willing to budge on the acre because of budget. Land around here is not cheap. And when you find a house on land that is cheap, it usually either needs a WHOLE lot of work or it's a manufactured home, neither of which we want.

I can't wait to see your ring either! It sounds like it will just be gorgeous! I love the Royal crown and I hope to have something similar for my ring.

Hey Ladies

I don't want to jinx anything but maybe I could use some dust! We bought our stone from Fortekitty a little while back and I had the setting made by Sally at Heart of Water Jewels. So.... the setting arrived today and we are having it set tomorrow and then it just so happens we are going on holiday for a week on Saturday!

I'm hoping this could be it, but I also want to enjoy my holiday and not get my hopes up too much. So while I'm requesting dust I would like everyone to please send some calm, relaxed, take it as it comes and be happy no matter what vibes my way so that I have a wonderful time with my man, regardless!

I have butterflies though!

Dust to you titian!!

I am currently just waiting on my insurance policy to be finalized before shipping my stone out to be set... So excited!

I'm not a top 10-er.. but.. well, I don't want to spill the beans and jinx anything, but.. time seems to move too quickly lately. :) and I've been uber bit by the baby bug.. but KNOW it can't happen until I'm done with my clinical fellowship year.. so SO is telling me to hurry up! I think he's been bitten, too ;) because he keeps talking about wanting a little girl. <3 <3 <3 I don't think anything can top being more romantical for me than to know my SO wants a little girl <3 <3

..and, as long as I do "well" academically, which means 4.0 :errrr: in his book, there's a very high chance (he doesn't want to promise so I don't get disappointed) he's taking me to NY in the summer, where we can vacation while visiting Diamond District :naughty: It's THAT, or I want to go up to NorCal, and visit Lang's. But he's been really firm on me needing to excel academically, or he's not giving me the pleasure of browsing with him. I think he's dangling this in front of me as encouragement.. and I have to admit, it's working

I saw on FB about the baby bug! Put that on hold lady! You need to get engaged, married, and finish school first!! :) :)
AhhhH! So exciting though! I love when men want to have little girls :) :)

How exciting! Wish I had sparkly motivation to get me through studying at uni :Up_to_something:

Eek totally know how you feel about the baby bug. A few of my friends recently had babies and they are so cute. Unfortunately I have to wait another 4 years minimum before that becomes a reality. Doesn't stop SO and I fighting about baby names though haha

Audball - I KNOW. OMG and I think that's why I want them SO BADLY. Because I know I can't have them yet!

Pandabee - lol, I'm praying I do get that NY trip! Diamond districts + museums.. ahhhh. <3

Magpie - LOL! I also have all baby names picked out. 2 boy names and 2 girl names.. just in case :naughty:

Hahah. Soo cute. Care to share baby name ideas, ladies? Maybe a new topic? :naughty:

Andrew and I have discussed potential names for a future baby (or babies). We have a tough time agreeing on anything!

Oh no! I'm not touching the baby name thread! I'm super "MINE"-territorial on my baby names.. I thought of my first baby name when I was still 7, and got so upset when my cousin was named it! Lol!!

Have you tried yelling out names? I want names I can SCREAM. Like I have an easier time yelling 2 and 3 syllable names, and don't prefer "John". You know. For when Im yelling at 'em. Or if they're far away.

I'm also very into "power" names. I don't like "cutesy" ones. I don't want to give them names that might hinder them from winning a presidential election, or get a job as a President or CEO somewhere. Like. "Timmy". It has to be Timothy!
