It has potential, do you have an Idealscope image for the diamond? You may be aware you could drop the colour and clarity a bit with no visual sacrifice but if you prefer F VVS then please ignore that advice!

Hi Lorelei,

Thank''s for the quick response. I don''t have anymore information on this stone, I would be buying it second hand (the information posted is from the certificate (DCLA Aust) the owner emailed to me. The diamond is registered. It is currently set in a Tiffany style solataire WG setting. I would be having it reset somehow later. Prices for this diamond vary from 4,900 to 6,000 AUD. Asking price is very good. I just want to know if you think it is good enough to purchase and keep for later. I would just add it to my collection!!!!!! A girl can never have enough diamonds

It looks promising and definitely worth consideration - I would just caution as it is a secondary market diamond, I would recommend you and the seller meeting at a reputable independant appraiser. As to DCLA, apparently they are a reputable Australian lab. The appraiser can verify the diamond is in good condition ( no chips or damage) and matches the report etc, then if it checks out and the appraiser is agreeable, you can conclude the transaction there.

Lorelei,

I just put the diamond''s info into the Holloway Cut Advisor and comes up with Total Visual Performance 0.4 - excellent. Is that a good score? If I go ahead with purchase I would definitely take the ring to a jeweller for confirmation on cert. The number is registered on the DCLA''S site, I know that doesn''t necessarily mean it is the same diamond set in the ring.

A score < 2 on the HCA is consider a good score. So the stone, by the numbers looks good.

Thank''s Stone-cold 11, looks good or worth buying ??????

Yes it is definitely worth consideration for purchase. Scores of 2 and below on the HCA are more accurately considered a ' pass until further evaluation is possible" usually with Idealscopes and expert inspection and advice.

Thanks for all your helpful advice. This is a photo of the ring, I will let you know the outcome
