Hi Lyss-

If it were us, I would definitely choose to go to California and tour the wine country, then stay a couple of days in San Fran, and then down to southern Cali....I just love it there, and that trip (wine country especially) is on my FI and I''s to-do list within the next couple of years. I think that would be totally romantic and it will be just gorgeous there is September.

Good luck!!!

I love Key West. Charleston and Savannah are beautiful. Wrightsville beach is very nice (NC).

I thought Key West was fun and really laid back, but lots of bars and dance places to go to!

Dt, we are looking in Oxford and St. Michaels. No, I did not know that, but that makes sense. We are all over the map about where to go, I hate to fly so that really limits us, and the Jersey shore is sooo pricey and you get no land and not much house. We have been back to Maryland a couple of times and there are two homes we really love. Just not sure about the whole idea yet...

San Diego is so beautiful the weather is FABULOUS, the water is actually WARM (live in N Cal here) and is really a nice upscale beach holiday location. I think you guys are definitely on the right track!

RE: Hearst Castle... we went a few years ago and well... it was okay. If you've been to european castles, I don't see the point. I thought the place was disturbing and sad actually. All those lovely treasures torn from their orginal locations and put together in a mismatched hodgepodge monument to greed. The indoor pool area was pretty though. The accomodations closeby were really underwelmning too.

Well, we have had a change of plans...I was able to convince FI that we should go to HAWAII!!!!!!!

I''m wicked excited about it...we are leaning towards Kauai!

WOOOOOO.

I really do appreciate all the suggestions though...I think FI finally realized how much I love Hawaii and that it''d be a great spot for a honeymoon!

congrats. it sounds like a great choice!

i very highly recommend the "revealed" books. there is one for each island... kauai revealed, maui revealed, etc. they have blue covers and are absolutely fantastic! we followed their recommedations and were never disappointed. we went to barnes and noble one day, got some coffee and flipped through all of the revealed books. that was how we decided on an island. then we bought the book and took it with us everywhere on the honeymoon.

happy planning!

Ditto! I live in San Diego and am sitting in a hotel room in Maui as I type this and I second that notion.
