How much do you love your IDJ jackets ?

I just quickly measured the jacket and they are somewhere between 9 and 10mm across, so they add a lot more than 1mm! I was under the impression that the 3 pointers add 2mm + the setting, but I could be wrong!

MizNina, if the stud is around 5.8mm, you may need 6mm jacket. otherwise, it might stick up quite a bit. If there is airline with 6mm, it would be small. Your case is much better than mine. Fortunately I may be able to stop by IDJ to check out which one will fit better.
However, I seem to get a lot of higher quote on 6mm 24x3-pointers, as comparing to 5mm 22x3-pointers based on what was posted in this thread.

Yennyfire, your pink tourm. cabs stud looks amazing with the 5-pointer jacket! I love your rainbow collection of them. If allow me to be a copycat, do you think I should make one 5mm or 6mm with 5-pointer? Thanks.

Boy this place is dangerous. I upgraded my engagement ring last month. I have .50ctw studs but DSS set in so I just purchased (yesterday) .90 tcw studs. Now I am lusting after these jackets. My husband keeps saying " get off that web site, get off!" Oh well I guess I will wait a few months to order the jackets. Oh ya. You all know I am going to get them

Hi lizzyann, they are large, but i wouldn't change that.
They have quite a presence and change the look of the earrings completely. Maybe ask Luann what the outside diameter of the 6mm jackets in the 2 pointers and the 3 pointers are? Cut out a circle of that size and hold it up to your earlobe to see how much real estate it takes up. Personally I love the look, but it might not be for everyone.

Another thought.. my 5.5mm stud in size relation to the 3 pointers matches really well, not too big, not too small.. I am wondering if the 6mm stud would look funny with the smaller stones on the jacket? I guess it depends if you want the scalloped look or more of a round ring look?

Distracts may I ask where you sourced your sapphire studs?

From Yvonne Raley on Etsy, but I am pretty sure this is her last pair in that size. She has several more 4mm pairs though.
