I agree, and that got me wondering what percentage of Americans watched the first hearings, so far. ...

How many watched it? ...

And how many Americans are there now? ...

Uhm, what was that formula for percentage?
Oh yeah ... part, divided by whole, times 100.
So ...

20,000,000 / 332,762,882 = .060102.....

0.06 x 100 = 6%

So, instead of 100% of Americans, only 6% watched it. :nono:
True, numbers are alarmingly anemic. There is a lining...
These numbers don't account for many streaming platforms. I had an event last night and watched it later that night on YouTube. I think millions watched it this way. I hope after this first hearing more will pay attention. It's on every news outlet and major channel but one. It is the main story on many dedicated and aggregate news sites. It's all over streaming and social media. What has convinced some of my conservative relatives to watch the hearings were all the bits and pieces they heard today. They will watch now. There is much more to come.
In any event it's in the public record and it's a helpful tool to add to the DOJ investigation.

Still a small percentage but maybe we should be looking at the population over 18?

I also think many people watched this on platforms other than TV news networks.

One would think it is important to hear what transpired from people who are giving their testimony under oath. Regardless of what you believe we all need to take a step back and realize think that this could happen down the road with someone else regardless of party lines.

I don't really watch TV, I just go to YouTube.

All I can say is that I watched all of these things live, while they were happening. Not the hearings, but the actual events. I don't need the hearings to tell me what I saw, and know. I watched all sides at the time. It seems clear to me.

I watched it as it was happening too, and in the days after. And still the hearings are showing me footage that I had never seen!

The problem is there is such deep polarization that even the truth is spun to be *fake. So much gaslighting.
Makes Watergate look like preschool.

I don't watch as nothing can be trusted anymore, so why bother

I'll definitely continue watching these very important proceedings and apply my own critical thinking skills and double check with other sources if I have doubts about anything rather than only trust any one source, the same as I've done all along. If nothing else, just googling an issue or question brings up different perspectives, if anyone does have doubts. Or watch it on C-SPAN, which doesn't include commentary.

So far, it's been mostly very high level Republicans who were closely involved and police officers who were at there at the time, along with actual video footage, so...

The interviews etc. took many hours and include mountains of footage etc. so it's true that someone had to select what's said and shown. Then again, something can't be said or shown if it didn't occur. And if anyone was misquoted, they could say so on a different outlet, which I have not heard so far. JMHO

Sorry, it's 1-4 p.m. . 12-1 is just preview news coverage.

The committee said they would release the full interviews after this.

No, I haven't heard of a single person disputing what's been shown from their interviews. And you know we'd hear about it.

I’ll be reading the other forum tonight too @Demon.

@autumngems, Please know I am in no way trying to be disrespectful to you. You may be amazed at how different some people‘s statements are when they are testifying under oath. I find it hard to believe that they would be lying while under oath. I’ve heard of no one coming forth disputing what has been said during their testimony.

Thanx!

Reminder-- hearing at 1 p.m. today.

Sorry, it's 2:00 today, not 1.

I've expended all my anger, rage, and contempt and I'm left with profound sadness.

I get it Matata.

There's a big hole on the earth where America used to be.
It was a nice idea while it lasted. :cry2:
