I thought was far away, but I thought I''d give it a try. Never one for geography! And Degrassi is a canadian tv show. They show it here in CA, but it''s usually outdated ones. Degrassi Jr high, and Degrassi Community School, blah blah blah.. All that crap.

I''m a nerd, forgive me.

Oh that! I don''t watch it. *shrug*

Like I said, I''m a huge nerd.

Wow! They''re so nice! I love the dress on the thrid one...

Those toppers are great! So pricey though!!
Too cute!

They are totally cute, I love the one with the pug. I wonder if my BF would be okay with that...

I just wanted to post this dress that I love. I hate my arms so I think this dress would cover it and the "coat" gives the illusion of a detailed train. Although I would still want a cathedral length vail but that may be overkill!

WOW, Angel, that is beautiful. I''m really starting to look at these dresses with overcoats (not too covering if it''s made of lace). Especially if I DO get married in Vegas during the winter.

I''ve never seen it in person so who knows if it''s even pretty but I just love the concept. They have the same one in long sleeves! You know, for your Vegas wedding!

(Still so excited for you!)

i have been looking for a dress with a coat as well. i don''t think i want lace- though that''s very pretty. i want a fall/winter wedding. i love strapless, but lots of churches won''t allow it. plus if it''s cold outside... and i just love the look of a long elegant jacket with the strapless wedding dress. it''s hard to find pics online of that. i haven''t had any luck... i know they have to exist somewhere!

Sorry, had to more.

Ohh I love this one!

I love the sleeves on that one. Now we''re almost decided on Vegas next November!! No ring yet, but still, we''ve both agreed on a time and year, right? Good news? It will probably be cold, too. But like my friend pointed out last night, it WILL be inside.

i am thinking october, nov. or dec. next year too. hey- wouldn''t want humid hair pics anyway! i think the cold will be awesome.

Amber-That''s so exciting! That is going to be so much fun to plan! That ring will be on your finger in no time!
JCrow-I always thought cold/winter weddings would be great too! So different then most and you can to so many different options. Velvet bridesmaid dresses, etc..Stuff that you can''t do in the summer/spring.

Amber, can''t wait to hear your Vegas Ideas!!

Amberwaves-How great are these "playing cards" for your Save the Date?! Totally go with your Vegas theme!
Sorry, just came across them and thought of you!!

Angel, I LOVE LOVE LOVE those ideas!! You''re right, this is going to be so much more fun. Because we''re going to be just having a small thing, no worries about anything really. We can all go to dinner or something in Vegas. Yay!! I''m still worried about hotel stuff and all that- do I have to arrange it, or do they?

Amber- I absolutely LOVED the wedding I went to in the Bellagio! A girlfriend of mine from IA asked where in Vegas she should go and I recommended the Bellagio first because I think it is the prettiest one. Absolutely love it!
30.gif
If your wedding party is small then you might just want to point them to vegas.com so they can pick out a hotel based on their price range. If you have a large group- most hotels will do a discount or hold on a block.

Cali- (it''s so weird, because now I know your real name!!) I saw one of the wedding planners on Whose Wedding is it Anyway, who got married at the Bellagio! It was awesome. I get so freaked out planning something in a place I haven''t been in years! My friend Will is totally talking about the bf''s bachelor party, and last night my friend Jess was talking about Bachelorette parties! It''s crazy because, even though there is no ring- there''s plans being made!! Also- how soon should i send the "save the dates"? Or should I just do announcements?/ I don''t know!! I''m out of my element!!

Ooooh... SQUEE!!! (erm, excuse me, I'm excited...)
I think I found IT!

Bianca for Jessica McClintock:
JessicaMcClintockBianca.jpg

Isn't it GORGEOUS?!
30.gif
It's everything I've been looking for! Simple and elegant. There's no train, but I'm short (5'1") so I'll have to have it altered for length anyway, so I could ask the seamstress to keep the additional length for a small train in the back. If we do decide on a small garden wedding, it'll be PERFECT!!! The model actually even has my skin tone and hair colour... And there is not only one, but TWO stores that hold the collection in Montreal!! YAY!
36.gif

Did I say I was excited?
9.gif
The only thing I'm worried about is that they won't have it anymore by the time I'll get engaged... *refrains from telling SO to get a move on so she can buy her dress...*

I also love the long veil idea... Do you think a very long veil, maybe in lace or something fancy to compliment the simplicity of the dress and add a splash of girlishness, would be inappropriate, or would it be a good idea?

Amberwaves-Once you are engaged I would send out Save the Dates. Since yours is a destination wedding, it's best to give people as much notice as you can so they can decide where to stay, etc.

"They are generally sent at least 4-6 months prior to your wedding but, if you are planning a destination wedding, for example
36.gif
VEGAS!!
36.gif
it is strongly recommended that you send them 12 months in advance if not longer. For seasonally busy and tourist locales or on or around a holiday it is best to send them 9-12 months in advance. Your guests will then have ample time to make all the necessary arrangements needed to be a part of your special celebration and may even extend it into a vacation of their own."

Anchor-That dress is beautiful! I love Cathedral length veils. I'm sure you can find once all in lace or even one with crystals to "dress" it up.

Hey Girls! Well, since my BF is supposed to propose sometime between now and April, I think he''d better get a move on because if we get engaged by April it will only leave us 7 months to truly PLAN the event!! That''s hard. And then there''s hotels, ways to get there... Man. Yikes. I''m still super excited, though. SUPER. And that dress, Anchor, is amazing. I think a long veil would be stunning- gloves or no gloves?? Hair up or down? All depends on the veil, right? Would it be really weird if we sent Save the Dates before the ring was actually on my finger? The only reason the ring isn''t on here is because it''s all about him saving by himself. So it''s not a committing thing.

Me personally,I would wait until I was engaged. (I know my family and friends would be like, what is she doing? She''s not even engaged yet!) Do what feels best for you!

Angel7 - Thanks! A cathedral veil with crystals would be a beautiful, I think, and crystal are a bit more "me" than lace.

Amber - I was thinking about elbow gloves. Would that look good with the dress and a cathedral veil with crystals? I guess I''ll see when I''ll be buying... I''ll probably wear my hair down (it''s curly and I''m letting grow just past my shoulders), with a wreath, but I''m not sure. I have a high forehead and I don''t like the way I look with my hair pulled back, but I do like the model''s hairstyle too. I''ll have to wait a see for that too, and discuss it with my hairstylist.

I do think you should start and plan now, but yes, I think sending out Save the Dates before you''re engaged is weird. I know your situation is not the same as mine, but I know the people around me wouldn''t take me seriously. I''m just a starry-eyes 20-year-old and all that.

My dress: I haven''t picked out one particular one but I have seen several that I like, probably strapless and A-line.
My bridesmaids: I want my best friend from high school, my good friend from college, my cousin, my step-sister, and maybe my bf''a sister.
My bridesmaids dresses: I am thinking that I might like something tea length in one of my colors.
The colors: I want pink, purple, and green.
The location: I want to get married outside either on a beach or in a park.
The ceremony and reception: I want to personalize things as much as possible. I will not hesitate to stray from tradition if it suits what we both want. The reception will probably be more of a cocktail hour than a formal dinner to save money.
The Flowers/Decor:
I like orchids, lillies, and roses. I hate sunflowers and daisies. I want some type of arch behind us at the ceremony.
The wedding cake:
I want it to be simple, yet have some color on it. I like round and not square. Probably a monogram or floral topper rather than the traditional figurine.
The favours:
I am not sure, but likely something inexpensive.
Time of year: I know for sure that I want to be married in May. I love Springtime.

I''m seriously thinking of going to the MGM Grand and having our wedding there, from what I saw it''s beautiful. That''s the good thing about Vegas, everything there is awesome. I love the look of Elbow-length gloves, I''ve always wanted a strapless dress with long gloves, like Audrey Hepburn- only shorter, thicker and with a shorter neck. Hm. Now that doesn''t sound so cute, does it? Oh well, you know what I mean.
41.gif
Just completely random- I just picked up an Eggnog Chai Latte from Starbucks (who I really don''t like all that much, but oh well) and not only is it a festive drink (and freakin'' sweet! Ugh) but it''s in a holiday cup! Now I''m so excited about Christmas. I love this time of year.

Amberwaves-I love the MGM. God I can't imagine getting married in Vegas because there are so many great places you can find! I think MsFlutter is getting married in Vegas and over in the Brides WorldWide topic she posted this great picture of a hall. It was beautiful!
I love Christmas too! Even if I don't get any presents!!

I just love the lights and the snow and the feelings that come with it!

Then comes Jan and Feb and those months suck here in Chicago!!

Okee, the other link doesn't seem to be working so try clicking on that one!

Oh I''ve missed so much- Darn that work picking up yesterday...

Kay soooo.... Angel and Anchor- LOVE the dresses!! I say a huge yes to gloves and a cathedral veil- stunning and classic! Angel- shopping in Chicago around Christmas was a great memory of mine as I grew up in a tiny little town about 2 hours from the city!

Amber- hold on the save the dates until it''s official. The MGM is nice too- many fabulous options in Vegas!
