How to take pics?

I got my diamond from WF mounted. They screwed up the head though. I don''t know what kind of head it is. They called it a basket head, but I''m not sure that''s correct. So it''s going back tonight to be reset on a regular 4 prong head like I wanted. It''s on a cathedral mounting. Boring to some I know. But we spent most of the budget on the diamond and I like cathedrals. maybe later we will snazz it up. I tried to takes pics of it with the ugly head (sorry if anyone has this. It''s totally NOT my style) but I can''t get my camera to focus on it. I don''t have a macro setting that I know of (no flower picture). I have a canon powershot S2IS. Surely that''s a nice enough camera to get a picture? I''m so disappointed. My FI has a lower end camera with no flower setting either. What gives? How do you guys to it. I get the ring back with the correct mounting on Friday and want to be able to take pics!

Hmmm...they really should have a Macro mode. Look in the manual...
