congratulations on finding your dress, you do look adorable in it. As for the "chunky", I''m going to have to disagree too. You and I could be body doubles, you''re shaped JUST LIKE ME, you confirmed it when you posted the dress size because I''m also an 8 in bridal gowns. We''re just one of the few Asian (or part Asian) girls that weigh over 105 lbs!
I''m a little late chiming in, but you look gorgeous in your dress! I love how it''s classic, simple & a bit modern too. It''ll look stunning w/ the opera length gloves (good call, scintillating!) &, most importantly, your crown! With a dress this simple & elegant, the focus will defnitely be on your beautiful face & crown! Indeed adorable, but that might be an understatement.
Congrats on finding "the one!"
P.S. Whether or not I can wear a tiara w/ the dress may well be a determining factor for me too!
1) That dress is simply fantastic. Simple, clean, classic, sleek, but also modern. The little dropped waist--as all have said--is the perfect touch to make it really au courant but still timless--and it accentuates your little waist!! I LOVE THIS DRESS!!!!! Def. prefer it to the other one, and it''s so simple and lovely that it will go great w/ the crown, and people will say, "what a beautiful BRIDE" rather than just "what a beautiful DRESS" you know? You wear the dress, it doesn''t wear YOU.
2) Chunky??!! I THINK NOT!!!!
3) I think the opera length gloves are right on--good call, Miss Scin.!!
You ladies sure know how to boost someone''s ego! Thanks so much for the compliments. I can''t wait to get this dress! It''s supposed to be here the second week in November, but I want it now! lol. It feels like I''m a little kid playing dress-up again.
hehe, I can relate to the little kid playing dressup feeling and I have not even put on any gowns yet! I think my friend and I are going Monday, and I am having such a hard time picturing myself in anything resembling a wedding dress. I think it''s going to be so surreal.... I sure am getting old
Turns out that both of them were too much in beading and stuff. I never thought I'd go the simple route, but I did. I have a very substantial crown (which you can see from the pictures) and together with these two dresses would be borderline gaudy. I want to wear the dress, not let it wear me.
hmmm......
Did I really make the best choice? I'm starting to wonder after looking at the porsha and chantilly again.
Yes, absolutely the right choice!!! I LOVED that dress when I tried it on...it seemed to fit perfectly, it was actually comfortable, and it totally works with your tiara. I agree that the other two would have been too much with your tiara...you don''t want to have so much going on that people don''t know what to look at! Does that make sense??? Maybe. hehe.
I think you definitely made the right choice! The dress you chose looks lovely on you--simple & beautiful & it lets your face (& crown!) take the focus! I know it''s difficult not to second guess these things (heaven knows I know that!!!
) but once you have your gorgeous dress & you feel like an adorable princess you''ll be reminded that this one was "the one!"
I''m way late chiming in but I had to comment b/c the dress is PERFECT on you! The dropped waist and the boxed pleats are so flattering and the gloves finish the look. It''s really timeless and elegant. Woo hoo!!!!!! Doesn''t it feel great to get it? You made a wonderful choice!
Don''t worry about the stories you''ve heard about David''s, lots and LOTS of us have had fine experiences with them (my dress came in early too, about 6 weeks after I ordered it).
