After three stores and many hours trying on dresses I finally found the one and it wasn't even one on my radar.

I think my dress is simple but fun, it has sparkles, and it cost the right amount! I feel sassy in it. It's my party dress! Can't wait to wear it.

It's gorgeous! I love the asymmetrical ruching on the bodice! Isn't it funny how the right dress comes out of nowhere? Yeah! :appl:

You look sassy in it

Congrats on finding The Dress!!

I do have one lil' thing to comment on though - maybe it's just the pics, but the neckline looks a bit -oddly asymmetric?

Beautiful!

Gorgeous!! And definitely sassy! :appl:

Yay tigerlily! Congrats on finding THE dress! :appl:

Yssie...if you look at the close-up shot of the bodice, I think the odd asymmetry is coming from that one pleat being pulled out of position...probably from being tried on one too many times.

I think it's just because it was the floor model that has been tried on a bajillion times.... it will be a hint of a sweetheart and the pleats will lay flat and even when I get MY dress in and it fitted.

Thank you! Please let me know if you see anything else i should ask about :)

I always find myself saying "I've never done this before" which seems a bit of a "duh" statement! :)

I thought I wanted a huge fluffy princess dress with an empire waist-line. I also was POSTIVE I would be getting a dress with straps. But lo-and behold I could find barely any dresses with straps to try on and definately not the ONE. This dress is strapless but only for now... I am having double wide straps added covered in the same beads on my dress... for even more sparkle. I am against strapless for me because I don't think its flatter on me for one, for two it makes me self concious about the amout of boobage people will see in pictures or when I bend over to talk or dance (not to mention the fact that at 5' tall most people are looking straight down my dress when standing) and 3. I didn't want to be tugging at it by habit all night. I will post pictures of the straps once I get them added... probably in April.

I love the dress and it looks amazing on you! Well done.

My constructive comment is about the veil. I imagine a plainer veil - meaning no beading on the edge but with scattered sparkles all over. What do you think?

oh, i love this dress!!! congrats :D :D

but i do agree w/steal on the veil. the one you have on in the photos competes a bit w/the dress, which is not a veils job. one a bit plainer would look wonderful w/your beautiful dress!

Oh I missed that!

It really is lovely on you tigar

That dress looks beautiful on you! :appl:

Didn't buy the veil... wasn't thrilled with the selection at Davids personally...

where else to buy veils?

And bra/corsets? No idea but still need those two things.

Very pretty, congrats! ::)

as far as veils go, it really depends on how much you want to spend. probably more expensive than david's, you could look at other bridal salons in your area. etsy (dot) com is a great place to look. if you are looking for something pretty basic, i found some rather inexpensive ones on ebay. in the end, i made my veil & one for a close friend. mine was a cathedral length mantilla; it cost me about $30 in supplies. hers was a single layer finger tip cut edge veil; it cost me $2 in supplies. (i found some great tutorials by googling.) GOOD LUCK!!

It looks great on you! Lovely! Congrats :appl:

The dress looks so beautiful on you!

As for veils, I would probably pick a longer one. I ordered mine from www.veilshop.com..
