I hope you can help Does anyone know of this Asian Hallmark?

Re: I hope you can help Does anyone know of this Asian Hallm

Thanks...I tried to look at link but it didn't work ...said post was removed.
The ring is Gold coloured...not magnetic at all...I haven't tested it at all .. the dragons are a much brighter gold and the stone seems to be a cats eye of some sort. I am British so did spell coloured right lol.

2nd link worked...I looked at some Gold ones and the 3 sign with a dash above it came up in Gold signs? Any ideas?

Hmmm, don't know what happened to the first link, sorry.

In the second link, look for the two characters under the heading "Chinese symbols for fine, silver, sycee." about three-quarters down the page, they are exactly the same as the two characters of the hallmark.

As I mentioned, the pic with the hallmark posted in the first post is upside down.

DK :))

mmmm... that definitely does not read pure silver.
the words in the white background chronos posted reads "pure + silver" (纯银)
the hallmark on your ring translates to 925 silver (纹银)

i'm not sure what hallmark was used during the really messy war times, but the standardized hallmark s925 notion was started in the late 80s and implemented in the early 90s.

so this ring could potentially date back to the Qing Dynasty(1636 - 1912) (the last monachy of china) but most likely older than than 1990.

hope this helps!!

Firstly thank you ...I have found the exact same mark on a site that talks about Chinese History.
Chinese Character Marks:
Many marks appear solely using Chinese characters. Generally they tell us who the retail silversmith is and the artisan maker. Occasionally there is additional information to be gleaned such as the manufacturing base and sometimes a silver purity guarantee.
Sheng Yuan maker's markHere we have a maker’s mark that tells us the retail silversmith is Sheng Yuan, the main artisan silversmith is He Ji [in Mandarin] or Wo Kee [in Cantonese] who probably was responsible for the item carrying the mark and probably worked a bench under the Sheng Yuan umbrella. What theScreen Shot 2013-09-08 at 18.59.35 mark doesn’t tell us is that Sheng Yuan was located in ShangHai and Peking and he operated between 1890-1930.

This was the hallmark shown...it does look like mine.https://www.dropbox.com/s/0u2664rpy1t1y3w/Screen-Shot-2013-09-08-at-18.59.35.png?dl=0

I think I am getting closer!

Good thing you posted that last picture. I totally overlooked it.
the hallmark on your ring is written in simplified Chinese, and the picture in yoir last post is written in traditional.
I did a quick search and it says china started enforcing the usage of simplified Chinese in 1956 so I'm guessing this ring was made somewhere between the 1950s and 1980s.
Though these are only my bbest guesses based on the information you've provided. I am in no position to give an expert assessment.

Re: I hope you can help Does anyone know of this Asian Hallm

It is so hard finding out about this ring... I am looking and researching everywhere! Then I have to find out about the gold dragons on it as well!
The ring is not magnetic...not anywhere, I have filed a small part away to see if any plating exists and it doesn't.
By the finish to the ring...on the edges of the actual band ..close up through a loop looks and made.
I love the ring and it is very special..I must take more clearer pictures of it as it is stunning.
Yes a mans ring...but you know when you see something and you just think WOW...
If anyone...anyone can help me with this I really would appreciate it and the help I have had so far on here has been amazing...thank you
