I just wanna say -- the random comments thread

Congrats to your hubby Lavender. Ash took level 1. She took it right after graduation. There are 3 levels right??

Thanks, Kaleigh! DH took Level 1 in December and Level 2 this past June (which is the exam he just passed). I have to admit, it was total absolute hell because we just got married a year and a half ago and he was also working full time along with nonstop studying every night and on weekends for the last year - but it was worth it knowing he passed now. 8) It's great that your daughter has a couple months to relax without studying before starting the studying for Level 2 - DH had to start studying for this one the day he found out he passed Level 1 because he took them back-to-back (Dec. and June) rather than waiting the year. Congrats again to your daughter!!

1) crazy neighbor moved... :appl:
2) new people moved in... np
3) they have been quiet all day- not a sound from upstairs :P
4) but now at 9:20 at night they are doing something that involves HAMMERING constantly... in there closet, which is above our bedroom. I'm thinking since they just moved in that it's super loud because everything echos with hardwood floors and no furniture. :angryfire: I am going to just chill though....
5) I'm cranky today

WOOHOOs all around! Love all the good news postings! :appl:

Letters really can be cathartic.

I wrote an email epic to my parents just now, about something I'm really more upset about than I have any right to be, and - well, I just rambled on about SO many things, and told them how much I love them, and.. it's like this huge weight has been lifted.

The bad news: Gah, the electonics in my car have been acting up for ages! It is supremely annoying. I tried a new battery, diagnostics tests, a new key, getting the immobiliser reprogrammed...nothing. So I'm out about €200, but gained a new battery which I needed anyway. Annoying, but not the end of the world. But this isn't the first time that garage have messed me around, so I decided to take it to another VW garage in the next city yesterday and...

...the good news: they diagnosed the problem straight away and they are fixing it!! What's more, as they claim it's a common problem with my particular model, they are somehow getting VW to cover the €400 cost under warranty, even though the car is over four years old! Hallelujah

I'm going with Uppy today to try on rings for the first time. L keeps asking what I really want and it's so hard to know without seeing them on your hand. Eeek, so excited!

Boy, did we have FUN time!! Got to put the Pricescoping to the test. Went to a great b&m that really got out lots of stones for OU to see. She found that she really does like the stone shape and proportion she thought she would, but did a 180 on setting preferences!

Just to show.... nothing beats seeing things with your own eyes on your own hand! :loopy:

OU- This is awesome! I remember you from way back when you had that falling out with your ex... So glad that you and your guy are gonna get hitched!!! I am really happy for you! And how nice for Uppy to go out with you for some friend support (and PS wisdom and guidance!)

:D I'm just glad I took everyone's advice and let that old boyfriend GO! Uppy was great help and we always have a good time together! Now if only we wouldn't enable each other so much...

Zoe, thanks for thinking of me too. You ladies are so sweet.

I have an Indian sounding last name. English is my first language. I have an American accent. I answered the phone and when I said I wasn't Mrs. I, that I was Mr. I's fiancee, I said my name and it's like the guy on the other end blanked out and proceeded to ask:
Do you speak English? Umm, I have been.
I need to reach Mr. I, are you his housekeeper?
I AM HIS FIANCEE!

Sheesh!

Horrible, eh? Well, speaking about Indians...

A lady coming to see me. She used to see an specialist from India (whom I did not know). When I asked her why she decided to change providers, she said, "well, I don't want to sound racist, but she was an Indian"... :o

My jaw dropped. All I could say was, "well, FYI, they are Caucasians... Have you ever heard of Indo-European migration?" She gave me a weird look. I never saw her again.

So, I speak with an accent and I have a weird last name... but I am white so it is OK telling me that she is not comfortable with someone whose skin is darker. Racism and prejudice, sure. But also, lack of education or interest. I guess the guy speaking with you had no clue about... whatever. Ignoramus.

Crasru & BBO, good Lord. Unbelievable in this day and age.

Had he asked me this, I would have said, "Oh, wait, $**t. No, I don't." Then hung up.

Wow, BBO, Crasru...how utterly appalling :nono:

LOL!! Yeah, I sarcastically told him, I have been speaking English [since I answered the phone]. LOL!! He's lucky he wasn't a telemarketer. I would have just told him off and hung up. I have to meet him on Saturday for him to take pictures of MY and my fiance's house. He's with our insurance company. I will be sure to let him know that I in fact am a co-owner of the house.

Funny, at the grocery store one day, the cashier was able to properly pronounce my last name. I didn't give her credit where credit was due. Again, a rep with the insurance company completely butchered it. It's not hard, it's just a matter of knowing how to READ!

*sigh* When will colour not be an issue?! :nono:

I've been thinking for a while now that we need Random Comments thread counterpart in SMTB. You know, for those random updated pictures you take of your jewelry. I've taken about half a dozen really neat shots since I got engaged and I really feel like its excessive to start a whole new thread to share an updated snap shot.

I swear, my ring is like Flat Stanley. There are pictures of it all over the place! On vacation in Rarotonga last September, at a baseball game (people gave me WEIRD looks!), and my most recent one was taken at work on a coupon of my special brew composite material.

So who is with me? Do we need a "I just wanna post my latest jewelry pics" thread in SMTB?

For those who don't know, information about Flat Stanley.

So go do it already! :wink2:

I haven't been able to sleep or eat properly for a week. I'm over this #&@* already. I just want to be able to function like a normal human being.

Princesss -- I hope you feel better soon!

C-tek -- I like your idea!

For the last nine months, I've had my eye on a house that's been for sale for almost a year. Today we're finally going to see it. Fingers crossed and prayers to heaven that we can make this work.

Feel better, Princess!

Good luck, Gemgirl. I'll keep my toes crossed for you!

At what point will my mind accept that I cannot keep baking and then wonder the next morning why the scale doesn't give me a number I want. I swear, every morning I get on that thing thinking, "No whammies!"

On the upside, I've had three people in the past week tell me to open a bakery.

Also, my children should open a wrecking company.

I did! No one else has posted. I feel like a loser! :?  :rodent:

Mascara commercials are stupid! Like they aren't wearing fake lashes or being digitally enhanced. I'm sorry Drew, I don't believe you!

If I got 11.5 hours of sleep last night, WHY AM I TIRED?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

And thank you, ladies, I do feel (mostly) better. Sadly I don't think I'll have normal sleep patterns for a while, but sleeping normally (or more than normally) at least once a week seems managable. Yesterday even my managers were telling me I looked rough. It's bad when THEY notice.

Oh no princess, I missed this!

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better at least...

I left my GPS in my rental car. In Baltimore. I just realized it about 20 mins ago. In Atlanta. Conveniently, the lost and found desk is not answering their phone. Nice.

I hope you get it back April. What a pain!!!

There are plenty of us in the area to go hunt it down! I'm so out of my mind lately due to work that I bet they would hand it right over to avoid making me freak out. If only we had a way to communicate a way to get it to you after its retrieved!

I hope they answer soon. Let us know how it turns out.

Thanks, that's so sweet! I've filed a lost and found form and left them a message. I'm hoping that my insistence they mail it to me will work. I will be up there again the Friday after next, but I can't go that long w/o it. I travel too much in unfamiliar areas. ;(

The thought in my head when I first saw those ads was *not real*. LOL!

The house looked great in general and the individual rooms looked so big in the photos on the MLS. It was a real disappointment. Everything would have to be redone again, and we just can't go there since we've been working on our little house for ten years and it's not done yet. I've just got to keep looking.

There is usually small print at the bottom of the screen that says the model is wearing fake lashes  I'm like .. uh.. what's the point of this commerical then?! lol it should be a commerical for fake lashes.

I got some new scrubs today and they're cute! 2 prs of pants, black cargo w/white stitching and bright yellow cargo w/a lilac colored stitching, and a violet top that matches both, and our office has gotten us some cancer awareness t-shirts I can mix and match w/the pants too. We can't wear flip flops anymore, so I'm ordering a pair of the Reebok shaper shoes since I couldn't find my size in a non ugly color, and 2prs of crocs. I know they aren't the most beautiful/fashionable but I love how comfy they are for me, and I did manage to find a pair that is kinda cute.

I'd forgotten how comfy scrubs are..it's like trying on pajamas. :appl:
