I just wanna say -- the random comments thread

It's raining today again (complete with thunder and lighting).....and my poor big dog is a giant wuss and he's so cute when he follows me around since he's afraid of the thunder!

Ok, I just have to vent for a minute about the VW advertisements.... They are using the "black one!" and punching thing for ALL VW's!!! It's only supposed to be for Beetles! Hence the term "slugbug". "Punch buggy" is also acceptable, but again, only for BEETLES!!!!! I get that it's drawing more interest and attention, but they are making a mockery of a treasured childhood game!!!

That is all.

Oh, boy! It doesn't say a lot for your future outlook when Robert Shapiro drops you as a client because you're "too rowdy"!

I thought that was so funny when I read it on the MSNBC website. What did he represent Lilo for? Two days? Oiy!

I always thought that sun showers were one of the coolest things Mother Nature does. We're having one now.

FMIL and I are debating curtain rod styles to hold up the chuppah.. it's the little things ::)

I saw Jesus last night, and she was awesome!

My parents and I drove to CT yesterday to see my cousin in a play last night. The play was Godspell, and my cousin was Jesus. She was great, as was the rest of the cast. I keep singing the songs in my head.

I debated weather or not to post this story because it really is quite discusting and embaressing....but it's also a little to funny to keep to myself so I decided to share it. WARNING: If you find pimple popping and slight porno references disturbing, do not read on.

BF had a massive mole cut out of his back over his shoulderblade last week leaving him with very restricted movement in that arm while it heals up. So I've been having to do some stuff for him like wash his hair that he just can't do himself at the moment.

So Last night he sat down on the edge of the bed and showed me this massive, painful looking zit quite high up on the inside of his thigh, probably caused by his trunks rubbing a bit much. And he asked me to pop it for him because he couldn't reach it in his condition and it really hurt.

I said, ok, because some times true love means poping your partners pimples. So I got some tissues , got down on my knees in frount of him to have a go at this zit.

Well it worked, there I was kneeling between his thighs as it popped and this huge projectile of zit puss flew through the air hitting me in the forehead and all over my glasses (thank god I was wearing glasses!)

We looked at each other and cracked up laughing.

This story is actually really sweet and heartwarming, aside from the gross puss (which is funny). This is totally something DH and I do for each other. Nice!

I'm going with Uppy today to try on rings for the first time. L keeps asking what I really want and it's so hard to know without seeing them on your hand. Eeek, so excited!

Boy, did we have FUN time!! Got to put the Pricescoping to the test. Went to a great b&m that really got out lots of stones for OU to see. She found that she really does like the stone shape and proportion she thought she would, but did a 180 on setting preferences!

Just to show.... nothing beats seeing things with your own eyes on your own hand! :loopy:

OU- This is awesome! I remember you from way back when you had that falling out with your ex... So glad that you and your guy are gonna get hitched!!! I am really happy for you! And how nice for Uppy to go out with you for some friend support (and PS wisdom and guidance!)

I am making prime rib tomorrow. Is it really necessary to make au jus for it, or can I just skip that?

Can I come over? As long as you have the horsey sauce then I'm ok without the au jus. You've got to have one or the other
though!

I closed on my very first house yesterday!! Woohoo. It's mine and my fiance's. Too bad he had to be at work on the other side of the world. We shall celebrate in a few weeks when he's back!

Lucky -- Prime rib sounds good!

BBO -- congratulations on the house!

OU -- I'm really happy that you've found someone you're truly happy with. I read about the hard times you've gone through with your ex-boyfriend, and I'm so glad things have worked out so well for you since meeting L.

CONGRATS BBO!!!

How wonderfully exciting!!

I'm about to get my very first colored gemstone ring set. I bought a micropave setting on eBay from LOGR and the stone was originally purchased to use in a ring project for my mother but I decided to save it for myself and use a different stone in her ring. It was cut by Dan Stair and I adore it. Just felt like posting this here since its not quite deserving of its own thread quite yet. The stone is going to be set square in the setting (not on an angle as it is placed right now), but it wont rest flat in the prongs. Can't wait to see it all secured in its new home.

Beautiful ring, C-tek!

My mom bought a CRV today and I LOVE it. It's definitely on my list of cars to look at for myself someday.

Went to yard sales today. Bought a piano for $10. Gonna cost about $300 - $400 to get it fixed/tuned. Probably not going to touch it for several years since I didn't realize it'd be THAT much. But I figured for $10, I'd take the risk. It's pretty :)

AND the boyfriend bought a car today. After he's done fixing it up - he'll (hopefully) have spent less than $1500 on it and he'll be able to sell it for around $5k. Or we'll keep it to save on gas :) I'm hoping he'll let me have it, lol. My jeep gets horrible mileage.

I wanna see a pic of the $10 piano!

Yesterday was just about the hottest and most humid- miserable day of the year, and we had our annual summer barbecue for our marriage group (which was of course planned four months in advance). I felt very sick and faint and ended up spending the better part of the day inside in air conditioning. It was a really horrible boring day!

BBO: Congrats on the house!

C-tek: Beautiful ring! I can't wait to see the finished product!

heyme: A $10 piano, how cool is that!

Zoe and tyty: The prime rib was amazing, but no sauce. It didn't have time to make any sauce, but it still turned out pretty good!

The town where my grad school is in hosted a beer festival yesterday. Normally this would mean the town is bustling with people walking from restaurant to restaurant to sample beers and get cheap food. The main drag was a GHOST TOWN due to the heat. 100 degrees and 65% humidity does NOT a fun, fruitful beer fest make! It was laughable.

Just won an auction on ebay for a .80 5-stone band (for $200!!!)

It's my birthday present from my DH (my b-day is in 2 weeks) I can't wait for it to arrive, I hope it looks just as good IRL as in the pictures!

I am so proud of Ash. She found out this morning that she passed her CFA exam. It's a 6 hour test. CFA= Charter Financial Anaylst.

All that hard work and studying was worth it. She had to wait 6 weeks to find out if she passed it or not. They notify you by email. Crazy.

Congrats on the 3 lbs SDL!

I got on the scale for the first time in three years two days ago and it was a HORRIFYING experience. This after I've been doing WW all summer. I found it really doesn't work with my travel schedule for my job, so I've switched to Southbeach. I wanna see the 3 lbs you've seen!!

Yay for the losing the 3 pounds SDL!! That's great!!! ;))

Congrats Kaleigh!! Just found out this morning that DH passed too (he took the Level 2 exam in June - not sure if your daughter was taking Level 1 or Level 2, but either way congrats to her on the major accomplishment!! :appl: ).

I am so proud and so relieved and so happy all at the same time.

Congrats to your hubby Lavender. Ash took level 1. She took it right after graduation. There are 3 levels right??

Congratulations, Kaleigh and Lavender!

Congratulations to your husband, Lavender, and also to Ash, Kaleigh! That's great news!

Today was a beautiful day, and it made me really, really happy. That's all.

Fantastic news from both Kaleigh and Lavender!! :appl: :wavey:
