I just wanna say -- the random comments thread

They managed to dumb down PE!

"A" just started her new semester and has PE now. They got rid of sit-ups as part of the daily warm up because "They are bad for your back".... but they still do them as part of the fitness test.

So if they are safe to do as part of the fitness test, why not during class? If they aren't safe to do then why are they still having them as part of the fitness test? Don't you risk worse injury if you push your body too hard (like on a test) on an exercise it isn't accustomed to?

Okay...
I just sat through the "welcome to high school" presentation for parents so may just be fed up with the local curriculum in general.

Just saw an email from Jamie at BGD in DH's inbox!

This is the guy who hasn't given me a gift in 3 years, who thinks diamonds are evil, and who refused to buy an engagement ring because he views them as a marketing ploy.

I am in total shock.

Also, he really shouldn't sync his email to our shared iPad.

Oooh chemgirl, this is exciting! Keep us posted!

Will do Junebug.

I make him sound bad. He proposed with a Cartier Trinity ring and tickets to Paris so it wasn't like I got nothing. Gifts are the only thing we really argue about. He gets so worked up about them and stresses about picking the wrong thing. I told him he can't go wrong with Brian Gavin!

Sorry but this thread has been my venting place recently.

I normally love my husband with a firey passion. We are that couple that after a decade of being together still love each other more then we did when we first met....but if that man doesn't start taking some initative with our move and help me I will duck tape him to the wall and do everything myself! argghhhh I give him a few things to take care of and instead of helping me with my work load he is making it worst. I actually see my head exploding soon. :angryfire:

lol! Yea so much for surprises! But woohoo for a reveal! I am waiting for my refund still so I can make my freaking order.

went to donate platelets today. long story short- the needle was not inserted properly and it was quite painful. I told the phlebotomist, who attempted to fix it and it ended up collapsing my vein and I had blood leak into my arm. Now I cant lift it more than 3 inches and even holding my phone is painful.
tmi for some of you who get super grossed out. sorry.
then i had to in for a.8 hr work day.

I think im going to chug a bottle of wine and pass out!

nothing.

Kelinas, that sucks! I hope you feel better tomorrow!

EEK!

I haven't had a bad needle insertion yet, although I have had one or two bad reactions to platelet donation.

I hope you feel better soon!

downside-I'm in pain

upside- my dog is doing much better.

it equals out

typically, its a breeze. I go in and do either a double or triple pull, and the machine doesn't blip once.
today though, starting with the initial insertion was just...not right.
they kept asking if i was dehydrated, which made me mad since Iam a regular and they know I fully hydrate and take all precautions.

then i just noticed now that i have bruising from the cuff they used when they were "adjusting" my needle.
why they feel the need to pump it to 200 is beyond me when they only go to 140 for my bp.

all said and done - i adore my phlebotomist and know that shit happens. it was a off day for her and im glad this happened to me instead of someone else. I'll be going back on Vday to try again for #27!

Got the final grades from A's classes!

Semester:
B+ in algebra
A in art
A in science
A in Spanish
B+ in English
B+ in history

BUT --
English and history were both A's for the quarter and overall semester was 89.8% :appl:

WooHOooooo!

She's worked hard and earned all of those!

So upset right now.

Went to the pharmacy to pick up my NuvaRing yesterday and they told me my prescription was expired!?!
I had three refills left but they couldn't give me any.

Called the office my dr works out of and reached "urgent care". They could have me in for an appointment but not just pull up my chart and issue a new prescription even for just a single one to carry over until my dr is in.
Went in person to the regular office and the other dr who was doing the Saturday shift refused to do anything with the refill request...

So I needed a new one last night. Couldn't get one. The earliest anyone might do anything is Monday when there is a dr who watches for refills for my regular dr -- who is only in Weds-Fri (9am-2pm)

I really like my dr but this is just frustrating!

:appl: for A's achievements!!!

:nono: for the lack of comunication the drs have.
Happened to me all the time with military drs.

Random thought of the morning...yesterday afternoon when I was getting ready for a surprise 60th party one of our dear friends was throwing for his wife I was showing my dh different dresses and asking him what he thought. Anyway while I was trying on dresses he commented how this one dress would be good because I could wear a necklace with it. Hahaha...he is now 100% PS trained. :appl: :cheeky:

Of course I didn't go with the dress he chose but that's the way it goes but I did end up with the polish he liked best. We have a running joke in that I always ask him which outfit he prefers when we are going out and I usually choose a different one. Hehe not on purpose I promise.

So apparently small changes in the level of pavement can cause one who is not really paying close attention to trip, gawk fall roll on the ground and look like an idiot in front of both family and complete strangers. The result is a fractured left ankle and a really ugly looking right knee!
Ortho appt as soon as I can get it till then brace elevate and ice... Oh and browsing bling sites!!!

Oh no Sparklelu! I hope that you heal quickly without much discomfort and that you are back on your feet very soon! I think you need to buy some new bling to make yourself feel better. :appl:

Who knew that a bagel could actually Catch On Fire.

Cooking fail..

Sparklelu, you poor thing!!! Take it easy, and I hope you feel better soon. Prescription from Dr. Dee: Booze, and plenty of it! Take two bottles of malbec and call me in the morning!

I am really happy to see that Kenny is back. :))

So went to the orthopedist today. I have a grade 2 non displaced fracture of the distal tip of the left lateral malleolus.
In other words I broken ankle!
I was fitted with an ugly black air cast.
No weight bearing for 4 weeks. So I'm getting a knee walker tomorrow because crutches will be the fastest way to a broken wrist, as I fall off the darn things!!
I could not bear the thought of wearing the ugly thing the way it was so I fixed it!!
Bling always makes things better!!!!

Lol ... We have a few kids at school on crutches that they have had a mini competition to see how sparkly and jazzed they can get. One girls has so much hanging off them they make a racket when she walks!! She has all sorts of beads and feathers on hers!!

That cast is looking good, Sparlelu! I hope everything heals quickly and well!

I'd like to thank Gypsy from the bottom of my heart, for making me laugh so much with her great sense of humour... A short visit at Rocky Talky makes my day, hehehehe!!!
