I cleaned out my drawers of my ring boxes. This is not normal. OMG I’m going to donate a bunch to the hospital gift shop. The bottom photo are just David Klass boxes. I even gave some away with gifts!
I was in a similar (probably a bit smaller) situation so I posted a bunch of them on preloved and gave them away and paid the shipping myself. I felt better doing that than throwing them away. I kept many as well, but at least pared down the amount to something that didn't look so overwhelming. Donating to the gift shop is a good idea. I didn't think of doing something like.

I was going to put this in the venting/grumble thread but I’m actually thankful but just need to share this.
Yesterday night DH called and said “I have to tell you something, don’t get excited”
I was thinking something good, like he got a promotion or won money on a lottery ticket then he says……I just got hit by a tractor trailer.
(emojis aren’t working, insert shocked face here)
He told me he was on I84 and the traffic came to a stop so he put his hazards on and slowed down and thought the truck behind him was going to stop. Then he realized at the last moment it wasn’t stopping and smashed his foot on the brake to avoid hitting the Subaru in front of him. DH was driving his company truck, a Ford F-150 which he was able to drive back to his company yard and get another truck to drive home. If he was driving our Mazda I’d probably would have been a much worse outcome.
This could have been so much worse but he believes the truck driver was distracted, he didn’t even blow his horn as a warning. The truck that hit him was a huge Peterbilt, he told me he thought he might not make it out alive. Can’t even imagine seeing that coming at you! Thankfully he is totally fine, not even sore today by work of a miracle.

Thanks! Yes very scary, I probably would have had a heart attack seeing that truck coming. Someone was looking out for him for sure.

Wow! I'm very happy he is OK! Good news!
Our niece was in her SUV and got rear ended by a school bus. The back end of her car was completely crushed, but she was fine!

Wow well at least she was okay, cars can always be fixed. Apart from him being okay I’m so glad he didn’t hit the person in front of him. That would have made things a lot messier because people will sue every insurance policy they can in an accident.

@YadaYadaYada Geez, my blood pressure went up just reading about your DH's accident. I can imagine how scary that was for him and for you. I'm relieved and so very happy that he wasn't injured. Whew!

@YadaYadaYada , How scary. Thankfully your husband is ok. I’m truly amazed that he isn’t in a lot of pain today because he saw the accident coming. Often people tighten all their muscles when they brace for impact and are in a lot of pain the days following the accident. I‘m so glad he is doing well.

Cancer sucks! Just lost a long time family friend today. I didn't know her as well as others. She was my grandparents' age. They have been good friends for 50+ years. She got sick and went to the hospital a month ago. We decided not to tell my grandmother as she would have worried (she and I were in SD at the time). Cancer diagnosis a few days later. Hoping my grandmother takes the news okay. Upset makes her Parkinson's worse. She has lost so many good friends and family this year. Some I couldn't even tell you if they were family or friends they were such a part of life!

A few days before my original post, I had an appointment at Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute where the doctor confirmed retina damage diagnosis for which there is no treatment or cure. Hopefully it doesn't progress further.

My DH is doing Invisalign right now. Pretty easy as far as braces go. DD is doing traditional braces...her mouth was just too messed
up to do Invisalign. YMMV depending on what's wrong.
