I just wanna say -- the random comments thread

I was just on chatroulette with a friend, it was pretty interesting. There was definitely some weirdos but I talked to several really cool people too.

It is anxiety.

A friend of mine has an interesting idea about my interest in colored stones - she developed interest in gems several years earlier than myself. She says, since we are living in Pacific Northwest, we simply have not enough sun, so we crave bright colors. She says she just needs to look at something bright. Today we met, and looked at each other - she was wearing bright cardigan, I was in orange vest...I must admit, there is something in here theory!

Following Friday''s cleaning debacle, DH is cleaning the house. Our 2 year old is ''helping'' and I keep hearing stuff like "ooooh look, mummy missed a bit here" and "silly mummy didn''t notice this big pile of dust in the corner..."

If our child wasn''t watching, I would get up and kick his passive agressive butt up and down the house.

I just read your earlier post and I am laughing like crazy!

Tell him you are going online with his credit card to order a revenge gift to yourself! That should scare him sufficiently to stop the aggro!!!

I''m worried that we won''t get the allowance that I need to not work (and support my mum) from the government for our 3-year posting to India. Wish me luck!!!

I''m about to hope on a plane to go on holiday.

He doesn''t own a credit card. He did mention that the floor I stripped, sanded and finished over many long months doesn''t actually look that good close up. My revenge gift to myself was therefore to buy a big tin of floorwax and some cloths for him. I don''t know how long it takes to apply three generous coats, buffing lightly in between then finishing with cabinet grade steel wool on a floor this size, but I can probably tell you in the morning...

Sounds like you have this situation well under control!

So on Friday I told DH that since I''ll be having crazy work hours soon (12 hour days), he would need to help out more around the house. I gave him the task of cleaning the bath tub this weekend. He just cleaned it (and did a mighty good job, at that!), found it relatively easy and OFFERED to clean the tub every week! Of all the house chores, I despise scrubbing the tub the most - it really wipes me out. I''m elated that this one is now on his weekly to-do list!

Ahhhh I HATE scrubbing the bathtub!! Lucky you that your DH is cleaning it every week now!

Kama -- I think I''d faint if my husband ever offered to clean the bath tub/shower once, let alone every week. That''s great that your husband did that!

Re. cleaning the house - by the time the cleaning lady comes in, we usually do a thorougly good job of messing it up to the extreme. But we developed a funny recipe. My husband and I both like playing card games on weekends. Whoever loses, does something - cleans up kitty's litter box, swipes the kitchen floor, etc. Small projects, not large ones. It sort of works, only he is a better card player.

Loehmans went out of business...was a fine store. Nordstrom''s Rack is much worse. Both are/were close to my house. I hope Filene''s Basement in Downtown Boston is still live and kicking.

I just wanna say that I am procrastinating. I have two papers to finish for school and they''re both 90% done. Why can''t I move into the study, sit at my desk and just finish them? Because the living room sofa won''t let me go...

Oh, and the floor is so waxy and shiny...bwahahaha.

J and I spent 24hrs on the couch, seriously. We started watching season 2 of Nip/Tuck at 4 on Saturday, finally went to bed around 4am on Sunday morning. Got up and moved downstairs to the couch and didn''t peel ourselves off until 1 this morning. Not going to lie, best weekend I have had in a while. :) Nice to be lazy, sometimes.

Also, unrelated, had an odd dream about being at a hotel in Hawaii and tidal waves hitting hotel.

I am sooooo badly procrastinating this morning. I have so much work to do-due on Friday, hard deadline, but I have NO motivation! I just want to sit online and talk to my friends all day.

Don''t think I''m going to be the one who is pushing you to do work. I''m selfish!

I''m on Hudson''s team today. No motivation, and my back is killing me from sitting all the time. The back pain seems to now be predominantly when I sit. If I''m up, moving and active, no pain.

Please, please, please let my sinus issues go away by Friday. Pleeeeeeeeeeease?

I need some red shoes.

I''m really excited for Passover seder tonight! It''s my first time hosting, but from now on this will be "my" holiday. I''ve been cooking for two days straight, and I''ve done so much mixing that my right wrist is killing me.

So exciting that you're hosting, Haven! Have a great seder and Passover!

I'm kind of sad today. This is the first Passover my entire life that my grandparents are not here with us for the holiday. My uncle is going through some very rough times so they went to Israel to spend Passover with him, but that means they aren't able to spend the holiday with me, DH, my mom, and my brother. We're all pretty sad because for over 20 years we've all been together for Passover and my grandmother cooked everything (and I LOVE her cooking!) and now this year it's just me, DH, my mom, stepfather, and brother. I've never spent this holiday without them... it's so weird and so quiet in the house.

I am happy my grandparents were able to be with my uncle though. He needs their support and presence a lot more than us this year.

I''ve learned more than I ever wanted to know about class action lawsuits, and I still have an hour of class left to sit through. Why, oh why, did I sign up for this course?
