Katamari, your kitty looks really cute as a lion! We shave our cats too, but they aren''t long haired so we just lop pretty much all of it off. Britta gets a path up to the top of her head too so she looks more evil w/some kind of reverse mohawk thing.

OUpearl - not easy to explain. Keep thinking about something I don''t really want to... but I do... but I don''t. Apparently telling my brain to stop is not working.

::goes off to find some kind of project to occupy my brain.... and changes my computer music to another song besides the one I''ve been repeating all morning::

and Friday I have to work two. I will be Sooooooo glad when classes are done so I have morning AND afternoon to work since they are in two different places and I need to get the one not at home going.

I should be sitting at home making dinner for DH and getting ready to watch the first Yankees-Red Sox game of the year that I can watch (the first two of the year were on Passover so I missed those). Instead I am sitting in a 95 degree lecture hall (and I''m pretty sure that temp is not much of an exaggeration) listening to a professor go on and on about reinforcement and punishment. Sitting in this room is punishment. I should just leave. I would so much rather go home and watch baseball.

When will they turn the air conditioners on here???

I am sick of being so frustrated with myself. I was on vacation and I didn''t exercise. OF COURSE I gained a few pounds. Of course. I''m active. It''ll come off. I need to calm the eff down and just enjoy life a little bit for my 13 hours of vacation.

I just wanna say that I really dislike parents of new students who just show up at school today and TELL you they are going to stay for the day and observe...um, how ''bout a big fat NO!??! I finally got rid of her after lunch, then had to deal with her again after school...sadly, the child has the attention span of a gnat. I think the next two months are going to be realllllly long.

I''m also bummed because my principal let me know I was nominated as a "Teacher Who Makes a Difference" this year. The two winners were announced today and I wasn''t one of them. I didn''t really expect it to be me, but I''ve known for a month that I was nominated, and I think I somehow managed to work myself up into a lather hoping it would actually be me this year...sigh.

She isn't the type that would go to wedding sites and I know I was inspired by other posts to do this (a loved ones picture in a locket in a bouquet) but I mean, it wouldn't kill her to do her own research, that's all. I shouldn't even complain but it just really irritated me today is all

My mom is in the state visiting (to help go through other sister's current divorce and is taking a week to just relax with us) and took it upon herself to stock up on some wine and we played some scattegories, pool, and watched southpark so it ended up not too bad :)
 
Heading to New Orleans tonight for a Wedding tomorrow and French Quarter Festival!!!

Our accountant called last night to tell us our taxes are done- both business and personal. We''re getting a refund that pays for the vacation we''ve planned Labor Day week and pays off a couple of bills. I am stoked!

Thanks, Zoe! Are you enjoying your break? I just went back after two weeks off and wow, it has been a doozy! I''m not sure how the parent managed it...it was her child''s first day at our school...she pulled her from her other school across the way because mom didn''t like the teacher! I bet that teacher didn''t like mom...hmmm!

She''s going to drive me nuts, I can just tell. She wouldn''t go sign in, so I dragged her up to the Office at the AM Recess and literally walked her through the sign-in process step-by-step and she just didn''t seem to get why she needed to sign in.

I told her if she would like to be put on the volunteer schedule to actually WORK in my classroom, that would be fine, but that she''s used up her free pass to just sit and watch me and the class from here on out. I saw there was an email from her already about working in class before I got on PS just now...I dread opening it. Apparently she signed her daughter up while we were out on break and she''s been nothing but a thorn in their side since the first moment she called them about enrolling her daughter. When she finally left yesterday I told her she needed to sign out in the office, and apparently one of the receptionists she''s been annoying said, "Oh, you''re FINALLY leaving???" Mom had no response...I think she''s going to be a delight! NOT!
