oh my gosh, I am so glad everything worked out for you Yenny! the new setting is MUCH better in my opinion :) it really flows much nicer and sets off your center stone perfectly-and it is GORGEOUS!

Hi Yenny,

I missed out on your ring "saga" but from what I gather it was a very difficut situation and I am sorry you had to go throught that. I have to say that the end result is amazing. I liked your setting with the bullets but this, this new setting is phenominal!!! :love:
I think cushions are so beautiful and a 3 ct +++ wow, and those traps.. great job!
 
Thanks Mommy2nk...suffice it to say that had I gone with a PS vendor (which was my initial intention), there would have been no saga. Hopefully, people have learned from my expensive mistake and the vendor I got stuck with will not get any business from the PS community. However, I am thrilled with my new ring and it almost makes all of this worth it! :errrr:

I'm happy my setting led you to find what in the end is truly your dream ring. I understand that journey well!

Your new setting is gorgeous and is IMHO, the perfect home for that stone. I cannot tell you how much I love the shape of your stone. The side stones are perfect! It was all meant to be! My journey was quite a quest and led me into many jewelry stores and so much research I often met myself coming. At times I gave up. But in the end...I didn't.

Enjoy your ring (I know you will !!!) You have a beautiful treasure and heirloom - I'm so happy for you.
 
Bebe, your post means a lot to me. I have read your past posts about your journey (in my quest to see as many photos of your stunning ring as possible!) and know that while our stories aren't the same, we both had emotional journey's to get to our dream rings.

I still look at your ring and lose my breath. It is truly a masterpiece and looks fantastic on your hand. Thanks for providing the inspiration for my ring and for being so gracious.

That stone would be spectacular any way it's set, but the new setting is just beautiful. I'm glad this story had such a happy ending!

Yennyfire.... it is absolutely STUNNING! I am so happy that your saga has had a happy ending. I love that your center stone is bigger and beautifully cut. I would venture to say that you may feel that you have compromised in color........but when it comes to getting a bigger more beautiful diamond........ that is the route I would take everytime. I recently helped my nephew by and ering for his fiance and based on my advise, I told him don't get all caught up in the highest color! Go for cut and then color. He ended up with an I, VS2, 1.02 carat diamond with a custom made setting from Mark at ERD. It turned out gorgeous and the color faces up brighter than an I color because of the gorgeous cut!! OH... I forgot... :cheeky: The setting looks way more fitting for your stone too. The stone and the setting are made for each other! JUST GOrGEOUS!!! :appl: :love:

cushioncutnut, when I started looking at stones, I was pretty sure I didn't want to go below a "G" color (the original ring that was lost/stolen had an "E" keystone). However, when I saw this stone without knowing the color, I thought it was a "G". The traps set next to it are a "G" and I can't see the difference between the center and side stones in terms of color, so I really don't feel like I sacraficed anything and I'm so glad that the jeweler showed me the stone without telling me the color or I never would have seen this stone. I've shown the stone to several jewlers (while I was looking for a new setting) and most of then thought it was a "G" or "H". Not one said "I" so I believe that this stone faces up really white and is on the border between an "H" and an "I"...either way, I have my happy ending with my forever ring on my hand! :appl:
