Not perfectly cut but I think this stone is promising. I cannot view the video on this laptop though so I cannot give my full recommendation for this sapphire. For those who can see the video, I'd like your feedback please. I see some inclusions in the pictures but I doubt they are noticeable in person. There could also potentially be a bit of darkness in the center but again, I cannot tell for sure because the video does not work for me.

5.32 ct unheated blue sapphire for $6000
Medium dark with what looks like very good saturation
10.4 x 7.8 x 7.4 mm.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-32ct-UNHEATED-Oval-Cut-Natural-Blue-Sapphire-/251157159894?pt=Loose_Gemstones_1&hash=item3a7a221fd6

I saw this sapphire, it is nice and the price looks reasonable. A little purple will be acceptable.

As your mentioned, is my budget too less to find a sapphire for my reqirements?

Hi~~

I have found another Sapphire from ruby star. How everyone think about this vendor? They really hold lots of Sapphire from differe quality.
This is what I found.

http://www.starruby.in/store/ceylonese-sapphires/4-53-carat-vvs-unheated-fiery-royal-blue-ceylon-sapphire-gia

I email them the price and it is within my budget. Is this a good choice?

I also email them about the first one. They said the stone is in GIA Bangkok for certification, and willarrange me the additional pictures.
I see some color zoning and a window.

Ok I am going to level with you and I really don't mean this as a downer but instead as something to give you perspective with pricing ;))

The only thing I changed in these online estimates is the tone of blue. You will see how this really drives the price. I also kept the cutting grade as "good" since most of the sapphires on the market would fall into this category. In the event that you find a sapphire with an "excellent" cut then that adds around $3000 to each estimate.

Here is how Gemval.com defines different cuts.

Excellent - Ideal proportions and symmetry; excellent polishing; exceptional brilliance and luster.

Good - Balanced, symmetrical form; minimal facet misalignment; small or almost invisible polishing marks; good luster.

Poor - One of the following: unsymmetrical or disproportional form; evident facet misalignment; noticeable polishing marks; poor surface luster; over-dark, "dead" stone

These are just for reference and they are by no means the final word on pricing! Great deals do still exists but the biggest factor is how long you are willing to wait for that good deal to come along. It took me almost a year. But I am glad I waited! :))

Best of luck and I will keep my eye out for you! ;))

It is so grateful for everything you have done, Justin.

Your info give me a straight sense about what can I get within my budget.
I think I can accepted the stone with very slightly greyish (which I may even cant realized it  )

So maybe a Sapphire around 4.5ct and medium dark Blue; very slightly greyish will be the best choice!

And I think I can wait about half year, cause my wedding will be in Summer next year. I hope I can find "the one" before that :D

:o And have you told your wife that your "the one" took you almost a year?! It is a precious ring, not only about it gorgeous stones, it is about your time and mind in it!

And I am going to some local stores today to see if there is some nice choice :D

It might be. Although the cut is off a little (very bottom heavy and off centered culet), the window is small and colouration looks good. There might be zoning from the pavilion view but if it is not apparent face up, it doesn't count.

A color-changed one ! I cannot move my eyes, although it is not a oval one.

:halo: Hope it wont be out of budget tooooo much.

I'm pretty sure this one will be out of budget based on prior experience.

This is actually an easy one to answer because they are from the same vendor. Just email him and ask. :)) Better yet, have him also photograph the 2 sapphires together on the hand.

Hi~

Just come to update that gemsthialand has send me more in-hand photo about the 4.23ct Sapphire

And as some of you mentioned it really looks darker and show some extinctions. I think I will pass this one.

;(

Could anyone help that I cannot post my image. Is there a limit size for the image to upload?

Yes there is a size limit. You may need to resize the image if it doesn't upload.

Thank you again. Yes she did know how long it took me to find the right one.

Since you are going to be checking some local retailers maybe see if they are dealers for Palagems.com

If so maybe inquire about these stones. Sorry unheated ovals are in short supply.

Be prepared though!!!! Once a in store retailer adds markup to these stones the prices may make the ones I quoted you look incredibly affordable.

Here is another option since you seem to be drawn to sapphires with a velvet modifier. Nothing wrong with that by the way.

5.32ct Peal Unheated
11.02 x 9.93 x 6.92mm
$4,500.00 OBO

Probably worth asking for hand shots. If you do like this you will probably want to move quick due to the price. I hope someone doesn't snatch this up before you have had a chance to see it. If this actually looks like the pictures it is one of the better deals I have seen in a long time!

If heat treatment is a 100% deal breaker and you like this stone you will want to send it to http://www.aglgemlab.com/services/ to confirm the lack of heat treatment on this stone. AIGS has had discrepancies in the past with heat treatment. I found that out the hard way.

Oh! If the photo doesnt lose the real color of the stone too far, it is extremely a very very good deal!

Justin you are absolutely a professional sapphire hunter!

I knew the unfortunate thing happened to emcee. I really feel sorry to her. :blackeye:

In case, to prevent someone snatch this up, would you please edit your reply and delete the link of this stone? I have already saved the address.

I should better be quick! :errrr:

Good luck with the stone. It is listed as sold so does that mean it's you? It's probably too late now but I noted that AIGS described it as purplish blue, meaning the purple component is quite strong whereas the picture shows a sapphire that is almost pure blue, with only a touch of purple.

I hope not! It could be the case that someone just purchased the stone via the BIN option and the vendor didn't know about it yet.
