No no Harriet! You didn't insult it at all! I too prefer a more blueish green, but for some reason I don't mind the yellowish hints on this little guy.

I know that for a lot of people the not so solid color would be a minus, but I really do love it. It gives it depth and makes it more interesting. I also like inclusions, but this one doesn't have any of those!

Anyway, I think I may have found a setting for it (thanks to Kismet!) but I'll have to post later because I have to run and take a shower now!

I have to make this quick again because I have stuff to do, but I'm thinking this setting only in 14kt white gold (because I'm on a tiny budget). What do you guys think?

Thank you for the lovely comments! I''m so glad that the stone translates as well on the computer screen as it does in real life. Although, IRL it is a bit more sparkly-which you just can''t capture with the camera.

I went to a B&M that had all these amazing lights and their stones just didn''t compare to his. I love neatfreak''s bezel-when I graduate and get a *real* job-I think that''ll be my first project.

I hear you on the waiting thing. My sapphire has a simple starter home until I can afford what I want.

Look in the "show me the ring" for Harriets stuff.

I''m not sure yet. My most pressing project is my wedding band(s). Then, I''d like to finish my tsavorite project and set my spessartite.
 
So how many projects/pieces are you working on? Or how many loose gems do you have?
This is what I can think of off the top of my head-red spinel(ring), tsavorite earrings, spess (what are you doing with that anyway?), and wedding band(s)...is that it?

And do you have a wedding band thread?

And this is a random question but, do you have any purple or pink gems?

Leon is working on my red spinel ring. He''ll also be starting work on my wedding band(s). Here''s the thread: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/still-undecided-about-my-wedding-ring.85769/ The designs for my tsavorite earrings and spessartite ring (I can''t verbalise the setting!) are complete. I''m waiting for designs for a diamond necklace (that would allow me to attach and detach different gems) and a tsavorite one. However, I don''t expect to finish all these projects this year.

As for loose gems, I have: Emerald, tsavorite, heliodor (golden bery), rhodolite. I also have a ruby sugarloaf and more tsavorites on their way.

My rhodolites are purple and my pink spinels are, well, pink. Phew.
 
Oh, Freke, it is beautiful! I love it! I think you should take some pics of it with your green heels that co-starred in the Tiff stacking band photos.

I''m not sure when the spinel will be done, but I''m in no hurry. The wedding bands, on the other hand, will have to be done by the first week of August. Yes, I''m a lucky girl. My other half bought the spessartite himself!
 
Did he pick it out and everything? Of course I''d bring some kind of cake!

Not really. I saw it, fell in love, and couldn''t stop raving. I didn''t buy it because the tsavorite ring was going to be my birthday pressie. But, since the ring was going to be late, FI called my dealer and surprised me with the spessartite. Now, FI can''t keep secrets and I can''t wait for surprises. So, he blabbed that he had ordered a surprise and I went investigating. Bad Harriet.
 
Oh that's awesome still though! BF can keep secrets like nobody's business, and he won't give any details up ever! And he won't give up any gifts early either! Me, on the other hand, I'm ready to spill as soon as I buy something.

Oh Kismet that''s funny!!I looked at those two too! There are a lot of really beautiful settings on there. I love the antique look, but it''s not something I''d typically wear because I''m mostly a minimalist, but for some reason I''ve been craving an antique style ring lately...

Anyway, this is the setting I''m thinking about, only it''s pictured with a Peridot...
