and i don''t know your situation, so please don''t take this the wrong way, but does your boyfriend know you are dress shopping!?! very nice and calm guy if he does :) mine might have a nervous breakdown if i had my dress before getting engaged!!
Haha yes, he knows.

I had my dress before we were engaged. I used to think that was stupid, but we had been designing my ring for a few weeks and I knew it was coming :) I found a great deal and jumped on it!

Your dress is lovely. It never hurts to try many on though.

Are you getting married in the summer? I decided against the crinoline due to the weather. I think they look wonderful but I didn''t want to be too hot at my august wedding.
I probably won''t end up ordering until October or so, but it has been fun to look! My ring is currently in production at BGD, so I guess our situations are/were similar!

Yes, we are getting married in June, so crinoline could be uncomfortable. Are some slips more "breathable" than others?

I love that dress! We carry it in our store! What color are you thinking of ordering it in?

I personally like the unfinished edge with no petticoat. It looks flowy and romantic.

I''m glad you like it! Your store was actually the first I ever went into, before I had looked hardly any, and I only tried on a few, so somehow I must''ve missed this one! I will have to come back and look. What size do you have? This is the only place I''ve found it in my size. I have seen the ivory/champagne and the ivory/ivory (what''s pictured) and I like the I/I best.

Even if the slip doesn''t work out, this will likely be my dress. I just haven''t found anything yet that compares at all. I''m not done shopping though.

I tried this dress too, and I personally preferred the finished edge, but it does still look great unfinished.

We have it in a size 6 in the ivory/champagne. I love how that color combo looks ON someone, I''ve yet to see it in ivory/ivory until your pictures and it''s so beautiful.

If I were you I''d talk to you SA''s about Casablanca making minor changes. Casablanca DOES allow you to customize their dresses in small ways. Perhaps they could add to the fullness of the skirt without ruining the flowy, romantic feel of the dress?

I thought about this, as I am going to have the neckline and hemline altered, but I am afraid of changing the dress too much, so I was thinking about a slip.

Does anyone have an opinion on this?

How about this?

Or maybe this?

I figured you had the 6; I have only found one place in OK with anything but a 6, and luckily it came close to fitting.

I really liked the I/C too, but I like the I/I just a tad better!

Ooh, yeah, I don''t know how many things they would allow you to change! Did the shop you were trying it on at have crinoline''s you could put on underneath to see how it would look? It''s hard to say what it would look like without a visual.

And I just remembered you are the girl in OK! Though I looooove this dress on you I''d also love for you to come visit our store!

Thanks for the tip, Lanie! I''m really unsure about what type of slip would be best. Our wedding will be next June, with an outdoor reception, so I would hate to be uncomfortably hot. Maybe a hoop skirt would be less hot, but still give the same effect?

I think a hoop skirt would be less hot ''cause it helps keep the material away from your legs. I had an outdoor ceremony and reception in Mexico and didn''t have any complaints of heat at all with the slip/crinoline/hoop. It helped, though that my dress was very light to begin with.

Also, I think with how slim the dress is through the hips, I would start with a mermaid crinoline. I don''t know that the ones that you have posted would lay well underneath that dress.

I agree with OUpeargirl. The one she posted is similar to the one I used.

I''m with Italia - skip the crinoline and keep it slim and simple! It looks beautiful just the way it is. I''m a big fan of slim silhouettes.

Thanks for all the help everyone! Since a slip would be pretty inexpensive, I think I will at least get one to try on with my dress. If it doesn''t work, no big deal, I still love the dress.

OUpeargirl, I will definitely come back! Probably in July or August, when I am back in Norman.

I hope you''re working when I come!
