I traded my G SI1 for a G VS2!

My mind needed a little bit of cleaning, so I traded in my G SI1 for a G VS2. I am very satisfied with this change My pics do not do this stone justice. There was only a .028mm difference between the stones, so it fit into my setting perfectly. When I take some better shots, I will post them. Here are the many moods of my new diamond:

Your other stone was marvelous too - I'm sure there's some little difference about it that we're just not able to see.

Marian, your new stone is beautiful!! Your set was the first one I saw when I joined PS (I think maybe you had just gotten your reset? It was June of 2009). I remember thinking "OMG, that's so gorgeous!" I was absolutely blown away by it's beauty then, and I am still blown away. It is one of the prettiest sets on PS, hands down. Enjoy your new stone, it's lovely!

To oranges, MissGotRocks and Yssie~ My SI1 was eye clean, yes. G VS2 has always been the sweet spot for me. So I decided to spend a lot of money on something that no one else can see, except through the loupe! Yes, I am one of them. I needed to know it's a cleaner stone. I actually went down 0.028mm, from 1.624 to 1.596 . The dimensions were 7.51-7.55x4.65mm and now are 7.52-7.54x4.61. It is another HOF diamond. I was able to trade up for the full purchase price of my original stone. MGR~This stone seems a bit more fiery than the original, which makes taking good pics somewhat difficult. When I looked at the SI1 through the H&A viewer, I could see some holes in the hearts [the hearts, however, were perfectly shaped] made by the inclusions. The VS2 shows perfect hearts, although I won't be seeing them again. I wouldn't make such a move for a pendant or earrings, but for the most important ring that I wear, I was willing to do it.

I knew that this was something that would nag at me, so decided to take care of it. Diamonds in this range seem to be in short supply. I checked the PS database and not much came up, so I seized the opportunity when this stone came in.

Thanks for the info - always good to match the stats with what you're seeing! It was a minor tweak to most, a major tweak to you! I so get it. The last trade I made was from 2.02 to 2.22. Most would have said don't bother but the 2.02 stone had a wisp under the table. You could absolutely not see it with the naked eye - only with the loupe. It took NOTHING away from the stone or its appearance but I knew it was there. Even though I was going up a wee bit in size, it was that wisp that pushed me over the edge to upgrade. So I totally understand where you are coming from! My current stone is an SI1 but it has no table inclusions - only little places on the edge of the stone. There are several of them but they are very difficult to see with the loupe and not at all with the eyes. That gives me tremendous peace. Most people would say I was tremendously 'touched' but I don't care - sometimes it truly is the little things that make us happy!

Hooray for you - it is gorgeous and everything YOU needed it to be - I'm very happy for you!
