I traded my G SI1 for a G VS2!

Yssie~I do have exactly what I wanted! It has taken some time to get there, but it has been worth it :))

Oh my goodness!! Amazing! I learned on here that you have to have a mind-clean stone, and that's why I could not convince myself to get an SI clarity. That is quite a stunning ring!

Bricklayer~I don't want to give a wrong impression. Many people are quite satisfied with an eye clean stone. I'm one of those OCD folks that need a mind clean diamond. I'm a little loopy that way :loopy:

Marquiseluv~finding the right stone can be difficult. My vendor brought in several over the past year that just weren't right. This one was the keeper!

I too wanted higher clarity (and color) so I traded my diamond for a smaller one (new diamond is .4 carats smaller). I know not everyone feels this way, but like you said about yourself, I think I'm probably a little OCD about some things. Before my DH saw the E VS1, I'm sure he thought I was a little crazy, but he was willing to indulge me in looking. Then he saw the E VS1 and he too wanted to make the change. It's not that the first one wasn't gorgeous too, of course, but both of us just liked the E VS1 better.

I am happy that you have found a stone you love. Your ring, as always is beautiful. I always stop when I see your aviator and take a second look.

I am a mind clean person two. I sacrificed a little bit of size to have a higher color/higher clarity stone. G VS2 is my sweet spot too, but my husband really was drawn to the stone I now have which is an F VS2, and I am not going to complain about that. I totally understand how you feel.

It's such a lovely ring you wear. Thanks for all the photos. My stone is almost an identical twin to your new one; 1.58, I, VS-1; 7.52 X 7.54 X 4.57 in a round halo. I just hope you'll love yours as much as I do mine.

I don't blame you not at all. It's the stone you wanted and like you said....... it's an important piece ... not a pendant or earrings, but your engagement ring. I'm in total agreement with Yssie. ;)

Thank you so much, Cachette! I just made a comment in RT that it is not necessary to have a custom made setting to have a quality piece. Your remarks on my ring are most welcome, especially now :))

I'm still trying to take some better pics, but I think my camera needs an upgrade, too :bigsmile:

Thank you for your kind words :)) You are by no means a "black swan." We all have different priorities for our diamonds and no one should feel uncomfortable saying so!
 
risingsun your ring is to die for! And I know where you are coming from. When we purchased my 2.01ct rb the color wasn't as important to me as the clarity. I ended up with a J color and a VS1 clarity only because the inclusions were some pinpoints and could be covered by my prongs or I would have been all the time looking for them. Your set is so classic and down right gorgeous. Wear it in good health, it's beautiful! :)
