I love the snowflake setting and ring as well. The color and saturation level of the sapphire is perfect with the cool white metal.
...did you get to look at that oval outside of the shop lights?
No... given the price and since I knew I won’t be getting it, didn’t want to take the risk. My jeweller has bad orange lighting in his store. So basically if a blue looks good in his store, it should look amazing outside...
I don’t see window but does it have a deepish cut? It doesn’t look much bigger than your cushion...? I am not sure if that is your cushion.
It’s just amazing!
Too big (for me) lah...
Did he show you his giant mandarin garnet?
I have giant mandarin garnet too.
Nothing is too big for me in the gems department.
Now I go and disturb him for the mandarin garnet.
My cushion is 5 ct and the oval is 6 ct. cutting is great. No window and doesn’t look deep.
@qubitasaurus saw it too and can vouch for the amazing ness of this stone. I think it’s the prettiest one I’ve seen so far, including all the other expensive GRS certed stones I’ve not posted/mentioned before.
My cushion is on the right side in this pic. Above is another much cheaper cornflower
Omg....that saturation and tone! What a stunner! Tbh I think purity of color (no greys, brown, etc), glow, and saturation matter more than trade names. There's also a loooot of underwhelming cornflower blues out there, and everyone's perception is different. I think mine ocassionally deepens to nearly a royal blue in dim lights actually.
They were actually all really nice stones. Somehow the hallo warps the perspective but in real life all 3 were huge and all three were a very pretty shade of blue. The oval did basically glow though -- it was a really deep rich shade of blue with an electric kind of glow (if that is your idea of ideal then it did indeed have it all).
If you love it can't you get it Icy? You've been wanting one for a while.
Is the cost atrocious?
Totally! Solitaire setting works best IMO.
Or a simple classic halo in vintage style to protect the stone... with milgrain etc... mmm
19k
Is that atrocious?
19k
Is that atrocious?
Tbh for the size, not really. As reference, mine was/is USD5700 for 2ct, so the per carat cost is USD2850 compared to the 19k's USD3166. Considering how much larger the 19k one is, I don't think that's a bad price at all, especially if you love it.
Just my 2 cents!
(FYI I'm currently looking at a potential pad contender and would love to hear your thoughts; 2.05ct, Mada, color looks promising, comes w/GRS cert)
How much do you love it???
Are you obsessed with it?
It’s the overall quantum that bothers me... (I’ve been spending so much!! Lowers head and moans...)
I’ll hop over to your thread later
