They go so well together - just gorgeous. I absolutely love clusters for earrings. I’d be wearing them to the supermarket just to show them off. Can’t wait for the final shots when you get them back from adjustment.
Omg they are absolutely STUNNING @icy_jade
Now THAT is Jade!!! Haha I noticed the color is extremely uniform!!!!! Just what you love!!!!!
Stunning!!!! Congratulations!
So… am quite excited about these though still in a bit of shock over the earrings purchase:
Sunlight:
Shaded (tropical) sun/natural light:
In the store:
On the ear (yes I blurred the pic and pls excuse all the stray hairs!):
Has to go for certification and adjustment to convert the omega backs (so painful to wear omg) to usual studs so will be a while longer before I have them.
Edited to clarify only the earrings are new…
Saw your latest post on apple vs Yang vs Imperial jade thread. I reckon emerald green, or Royal green per AIGS classification? Rough specs in terms of size and pricing probably will be guides as to starting point to colour classification…
Cos Nanyang will just state green…
Cos Nanyang will just state green…
Actually I have it on good authority from communicating with Nanyang that they do have designation “vivid green” for top of range products, whether your jewellery meet the standard being another matter. Their “vivid green” seems to be higher standard than HKJSL’s “intense green” classification…
Haha yes the Hong Kong lab that I use is: light green, green or bright green.
Generally anything with a nice colour they will call "bright green" so if you get a "green" only you tend to groan internally a bit.
Lemme check with my jeweller which of his past jadeite qualified for vivid. Am also curious.
End of the day there is no standard lor. I asked Wriston and he just said Nanyang will just state green. Like everything also is green right?

The bit about “vivid” is what Mr Zeng wrote to me on email back in April this year, apparently reserved for very fine pieces, so your jeweller may or may not have had items that qualified as “vivid” by Nanyang. Who is this Wriston?
Did Mr Zeng specifically said for jadeite? I do have other green gems certed as vivid.
Wriston is my jeweler. The one I got the earrings from. Mellow also knows him cos she got a pink sapphire ring from him last time.
That email is to my query of whether the Nanyang uses any descriptive terms other than plain “green” for jade, as I came across a photo of an item certified as “intense green” by HKJSL but plain “green” by Nanyang.
Lol. I’ve seen examples of him grading diamond one color below GIA, and giving emeralds minor instead of insignificant vs one of the well known global labs.
Mr C.G Zeng of Nanyang Lab is known to be extremely strict in the trade.
I have heard of examples of him refusing to classify certain pink sapphires as papadradscha which GRS did.
Very nice earrings @icy_jade
Gorgeous new additions! The jade set is spectacular, especially the earrings! Wow, the colour on them is just amazing. You should wear them with a LBD, no other accessories, it would just be chic and not OTT.
The garnet and tsavorite rings are gorgeous big dollops of candy.
Yes. He did write quite a detailed email but just to quote one paragraph…
“As such, we have a stringent process to determine its saturation and should the jadeite be a really high-end piece and its quality meets our criteria, we will give comments such as “vivid green” for very fine pieces.”

Have two tiny Australian solid opals that I got few years ago, always assumed it’s either black or semi-black, and yours on fourth finger look very similar, just much bigger. Maybe it is real black/semi-black stuff! Will put photos later.
