I just wanted to say, if you want to go to Pacific NW, go to Vancouver. You can always visit WA from Vancouver (and stay in Levenworth for two days, you won't need more... it is not Octoberfest). But it is more fun to go abroad, and Canada is the closest abroad you could think of. Or you could go to French Canada and then take a trip to New England or Upstate NY.
