I'm not longer an employee at former company! WHOOOHOOOO!!!
Demon Boss was a PITA yesterday and I finally got to push back a little.
She comes into my office with 7 sheets of paper of notes scribbled on a document. Tells me she wants me to write an email to so and so (which would have opened up a can of worms requiring DAYS to resolve) and this is what she wants it to say, starts dictating to me. Now, no offense, but no where in my job description does it say I have to write emails for this woman. So she's going on and on, and I realize it's gonna take me 20 minutes just to write this book that is going to piss the recipient off, then three days just to get the issue resolved.
The day before she had me type up two emails for her. AND print out a contract (we use the same printer, and it's closer to her) just so I could pick it up and hand it to her. I did all of that.
But yesterday, NO. So I said, "Demon Boss, I have to get X, Y, and Z done before I leave. Those are my priorities and I need the remaining time I have to complete them. You seem to know exactly what the issues are, and how you want them stated. I suggest you write the email yourself."
Demon Boss, "AS LONG AS YOU WORK HERE, AND FOR AS LONG AS YOU WORK HERE YOUR PRIORITIES ARE WHAT I SAY THEY ARE."
Me: "No. Our VP needs these things before I leave. That is the priority. Oh, and BTW... my exit interview is a 9:30 am so I'm here for less than 24 hours, you really should look into sending that email out yourself, because I do not have time to do it"
Oh she threw a FIT. The ladies I am friends with had planned a going away luncheon for me and had (apologetically) invited her. SO she STOMPS over and tells them she is NOT going to attend the Luncheon!
I got 7 emails (she was loud about this) from Luncheon attendees thanking me for making her mad enough to back out.
We had a lovely lunch. A really lovely one.
AND TODAY I AM FREE!! I have a little over a week off starting TODAY!! YAY!
*boogie* *boogie*.... I'm considering a nice long afternoon nap. Hmm.
