In search of my 1st jedi spinel

Hi all
Trying to make a decision on my 1st jedi spinel purchase.
I like a few on Yavorskyy but they don`t budge on the price.
I`ve been chatting with higems from instagram and he sent me a video of his sub carat stones.
These are 05-0.6 carat stones in $600-700-800 range they are 5.5-4.5mm
Is pricing good for this size jedi spinels?
He said Top left and Bottom left are eye clean and almost loupe clean with very small inclusions and no cracks and will be sending them to AIGS origin lab report.

I have multiple stones from higems and I believe he is reputable. He is my go to for jedi spinels. The price seems about right for that size range for the true neon material. Just keep in mind his pictures/videos might be a little pinker than reality (quite common with online sellers, but even my own photos come out a little too pink a lot of times) and eye cleans that I've bought are probably 85-90% of the time eye clean, which is good enough for me but might not be enough for others. But if he is claiming almost loupe clean then you should be good. Good luck!

Everytime I see @CBianco jedi spinels I am always shocked at how insanely saturated and neon they are, so if you're buying one from the same vendor I think you're good to go. I like my colored gemstones with inclusions and silk and weird stuff in them but I believe I am the minority. Plus the savings is nice versus the loupe clean ones. So it just depends how important each factor is to you! I think they all look insane and would be happy with any of them.

They’re tough to source, and the prices you are quoting are definitely better than Yavorskyy.

The scarcity of the material makes it hard to determine a “market value.”

There just aren’t many options available.

Dealers also tend to snap up this material on the B-to-B market and hoard it - which severely limits public access.

With that said, HiGems is one of the few exceptions who does make this material available on the open market.

I also think they are reputable. When they say “Jedi,” they actually deliver in terms of color and fluorescence.

It’s difficult to find this material at all, even at shows or in the Bangkok marketplace (I live nearby for part of the year and so know the market here reasonably well).

So, it’s hard to imagine reliably finding it with “better” pricing than what you are quoting.

In the end, price is determined by supply, demand and what you’re willing to pay.

I suspect the dealer in question will not have much difficulty finding other buyers at the prices he’s asking.

I picked the top left stone. Stephan (higem) will drop it to my new friend Suhail (starlanka) so he can check it for me and send it to AIGS gem origin report, than ship to me.
Higem doesn`t accept paypal or credit card so we found a mutual safe way to pay, certify and ship it to US
I love how professional they are and help each other in business and help the client to feel safe.

P.S. I have to add something about Yavorskyy. They're lovely folks and very reputable. But... I have found that the actual gems often look vastly different than the photos on their website (and I always account for a reasonable degree of variation). I mean these gems were really, really disparate in terms of saturation. I hate to say that, because I don't like to speak negatively about any vendor (unless they've been disrespectful or dishonorable). But I was shocked recently by the difference of a blue spinel on their site and in person. FYI.

I also ordered these two from Yavorskyy. Should be here in 2 weeks or so, I`ll post some pictures of all, fingers crossed. (will be bad cell phone pictures lol)

Will do. It will take time, still couldn`t find a sample design to work on. I`m not creative to draw by hand or CAD. Claw holding the stone, scales around the ring... Has to be something that won`t be cheesy looking or too big so I need help of someone that has drawing skills. Making the ring will be easy once 3d is drawn. I have many personal contacts in eastern Europe where labor is very inexpensive to have custom jewelry made.

Yavorskyy stone arrived, I cancelled the higems stone after my friend Suhail checking it and sending me detailed magnified pictures it had too many fissures and inclusions.
