Please take a look at the picture and let me know if this is natural skin or a chip in my diamond, I'm very concerned. Thanks a lot!

it's hard to see - it looks like there's some abrasion at the site but it could be photo artifacts/reflections of something around the stone - the best way is to get it appraised if you're worried.

Obvious q - does your stone have a report, and does the report list a natural?

Those look like two prongs pretty close together - how big is the stone? Sometimes the prongs on a smaller stone will be spaced close together such that the girdle does not come into contact with any flat surface against which the stone is banged at that site - which doesn't preclude hitting a corner, say, but does reduce the likelihood of damage.

I agree that this picture is not good enough quality to make a definitive judgement, but it looks very much like damage to me. And nothing like a natural.

Good luck, but to be sure it is vital to get a professional opinion.

I don't see a chip at this point. Maybe one is hiding and other photos would reveal it. Right now, it looks as if there is a "natural" on the girdle combined with the presence of several feathers combining to form a rather large, white inclusion to the left of the prong in the image. If any material is missing from the diaqmond there it would not be surprising, but I don't see any missing right now. A shot from the top might reveal more detail.

What was the clarity of the diamond to begin with? Has it gone through something which might have caused damage? Is this clarity characteristic already on the diamond report or is there no clarity plot, or no report? Is it a recent purchase or one made some time ago?

There is a lot of information which might go to help you along.
