Hi, I guess I should *out* myself since I've been lurking. My name is Inga. I was married once before - and have been divorced for about 2 years. I have two adorable little boys (4 and 7). I've been dating a really wonderful guy for a year now - he's got 3 kids, so we're just one kid short of the Brady Bunch. He has not been divorced as long - so even though we've been insanely happy since the moment we met, we are taking things a little slow to ease his kids into the transition of us being together. We've looked at rings together a few times... and I even suspect he's ordered one - but it'll take a few weeks to make and then I am waiting on my "surprise" proposal.
I have to keep reminding myself there's no rush... but I tend to be a very results oriented person and now that I know who I want to be with - I want to be with him, not wait. But certainly, with kids, it's more complicated. Everyone gets along great though... thankfully - well, except his ex wife. My ex is actually quite civil and has met my FF many times.
Finding pricescope has been great - I had not thought much about jewelry once I took off my old engagement (.91 carat platinum solitaire), wedding (three small diamonds), and anniversary ring (3/4 carat in a halo, WG)... so after seeing so many beautiful rings here, have come up with some new ideas for those pieces. I was planning to leave them in a drawer and let my boys use them down the road if they were interested... and not I'm wondering why I shouldn't created something wonderful to wear for the next 20-30 years. I'm putting the anniversary diamond in a double halo pendant, the carat engagement diamond in a new ring to wear on my right hand. Still haven't figured out what to do with those smaller diamonds (.15-.20 I think) in the wedding band. So this will keep me busy while waiting on my engagement.
