I know most a lot of tourmalines are treated in some way.

According to the AGTA Source Directory (c2000):

For pink/red/purple tourmaline:

Heating is occasionally used - excellent stability
Irradiation is commonly used - good stability
Oiling/Resin infusion is occasionally used - good to fair stability
Dying is occasionally used - fair to poor stability

A lot of Brazilian rubellite is either heated and/or irradiated.

Regarding Nigerian material, that of a burgundy color is generally heated, but the fine Nigerian rubellite in rich reds and fuscia pinks is completely untreated. Sadly, that deposit is completely depleted.
