Recent lurker and first time poster here. I've been reading these forums and have found them super helpful to get a background education on diamonds before making the biggest purchase of my life. Thanks so much in advance for everyone who contributes here and for taking the time to take a look at this question.

Basically, I've been shopping for a e-ring and am close to buying this stone from a jeweler in New York:

The stone looks very sparkly and I've looked through the ideascope to confirm that it has good light return (jeweler says it's about 95% light return) - it looked mostly red to me.

The price for the stone is just under 18K (it'll be close to another 2K for a halo and pave platinum setting). Do you guys think I'm getting a good deal?

Thanks. The design was hearts and arrows but the arrows all seemed really short and fat (though symmetrical) when I looked at the ring. Is this anything to be concerned about?

Any pic of the hearts?

It scores well on the HCA, which is great (1.4).

But it is a 60/60 stone - not that that's bad (some people prefer the look), but you should be aware of what you are getting.

The shallower crown angle and larger table will result in less fire (colored light) than a more traditionally cut ideal stone.

Here's a stone on JA that is also a 60/60 1.7 G VS1
