About a year ago, I switched over all my jewelry to yellow gold. I'm not much of a person for mixing metals on my body.
Yesterday was my birthday and my husband was so excited to give me my birthday gift. He said he was finally able to give me something he'd always wanted to. When I opened it, it was a white gold tennis bracelet. The first thing he said was, "is it OK that it's white gold? I couldn't get yellow gold at the time." What he meant by that was last minute because he tends to buy things last minute. And that's ok... it's who he is, and this gift was incredibly thoughtful. But. I don't know if the white gold looks fine in my stack because it's all diamonds or if I should exchange it for yellow gold. I was hoping for other people's opinions of what they think of a white gold tennis bracelet in an otherwise all yellow gold jewelry set. I just don't know if it looks tacky or less congruent with it being white gold. Or maybe by the time the rhodium wears off I won't even notice anymore. In all honesty, i'm slightly uncomfortable with the thought of exchanging it because he gave me the white gold but if I went into store to buy it, I feel like I would've chosen yellow. Now I don't know what to do. If anyone here has been in the same predicament, I'd sure love to hear your perspective. Or any advice or opinions really.

I love it & Happy Birthday!

Like you, all my bracelets are in 18ct yellow gold. EXCEPT for my tennis bracelet, which was a conscious decision. It makes it pop!

I am a mixed metal stacker & so I have no issues with this look at all. I like visual interest, which is exactly what your bracelet stack is :kiss2:

I personally love that your tennis bracelet is in white gold, because the setting "disappears" and helps the diamonds look larger and whiter. Wearing mixed metals can seem effortlessly chic when done right, and I think a white gold tennis bracelet is one of those pieces that can't go wrong. Happy birthday to you and here's wishing you a most wonderful year ahead!

Agreed, I prefer WG for tennis bracelets bc the diamonds pop, especially against the YG of your stack. However, if it bothers you now - it will always bother you, so better to exchange it now for mind clean YG.

See I love that you've mixed gold colors... it looks so chic and modern. Plus, diamonds look so fantastic in white metal. I positively love it and wouldn't think twice. Happy birthday and congrats!!

I would prefer the tennis bracelet be in white gold. It looks great with your other bracelets and I wouldn’t doubt it for a minute! Enjoy such a special gift!

Premise: my everyday bracelet stack is yellow gold, except for my tennis bracelet.

I would keep it because:
- it's really beautiful and perfect on your wrist
- wg adds visual interest to your bracelet stacks
- colorless diamonds look better in wg settings
- it's a sentimental gift from your husband

Looks fantastic. I think it pops against your gold bracelets. I personally mix all kinds of gold. I’m too disorganised to have things matching in one colour.

I think diamonds go with anything and basically it's all diamonds! The white metal sort of just disappears! I wouldn't have
a second thought about it, either. I love that you've added a little sparkle to your stack!

Happy Birthday! My husband can buy me THAT tennis bracelet last minute for my birthday ever year, it’s beautiful. I agree with other responses that the white gold setting makes the diamonds pop. It’s a classic piece that is a different style than your other bracelets, which could maybe be why you feel this way? However, I love the contrast of them all together and with your cool tattoo.

More than likely your bracelet is rhodium plated which will wear off over time. Depending on if it’s 14K or 18K, natural white gold is varying shades depending on the palladium or nickel content. I understand the sentimentality of keeping what he bought for you. This is something he wanted to give you. I mean, we all want to encourage our husbands to buy us more diamonds right?! Maybe a compromise could be to have the plating removed to soften the contrast? It probably won’t change the overall look much when viewing the bracelet straight down since just the prongs will be affected.

I prefer the white metal. You don’t even see it anyway, just the white diamonds. I also prefer yg but I think if I am ever lucky enough to have a tennis bracelet I would also do a white metal. It looks perfect with your other bracelets

Thank you for your thoughtful reply ☺️. Yes I have decided that I'm perfectly OK with it. The way that it is. I love that. This is what he wanted for me. And when the rhodium wears off, I'm going to leave it that way. I think it'll be a good compromise between bright white rhodium, and the yellow gold that I typically prefer.
