Well, due to a chip on my spouse's ER I'm back in the market, this time for a round. I was looking at the white series 10 H&A from JannPaul as it seems interesting. They have a stone in my specs: AGS 104117197048, abit overkill on clarity.

Not sure how it scored on the HCA but looks good? Any feedback / suggestions? TIA :)

You might want to display a copy of the report. People don't like to download things on their computers.

I have purchased three Decagons from JP for my wife. HCA computes a score for 57 facets not 111. The diamond has been vetted by the Master Cutter in Belgium and JP in house and graded by AGS as a SIC. It will be an elite light performer and will bring joy and satisfaction to your wife. You have made a great selection.

Can you get a video of the stone?

JP is quite innovative on diamond cutting. I think watch a bit their videos would give you confidence on their performance. Also their stone are highly precision cut.

Can't go wrong with a JP decagon!

Since you have secured the AGS lab report, I assume the White Series 10 H&A round diamond is in house. Suggest you place a deposit on it to reserve it. They sell out very fast. Lost my first two in house Decagons for earrings by naively waiting w/o a deposit. Luckily, at the time, JP had similar twin Decagons that I immediately reserved by a deposit.

JP provided me with a flipping book for our solitaire Decagon which demonstrates the AGS Lab report, ASET with static and rotational views, dark field illumination, Light Optics under different lighting w H2H comparisons to GIA 3 EX and Ideal Cuts, along with other significant parameters. This was posted on PS. You can request this too and post it on PS. AGS collaborated with JP on their White Series (WS) to refine the facet angles and azimuths to optimize and maximize Optical Light Performance.

If you decide to have JP custom design your ring setting, you can request a video of your ring being set. Since I was given a 2-3 month window for our bespoke Decagon solitaire to be fashioned, I requested a video of the rough diamond being created into the final product: cut, bruted, polished and brillianteered into a spectacular Decagon. JP agreed and in addition included in the videos (3) the custom designed hand forged master crafting of the ring and then setting of the melees and Decagon. These videos are available on YT, IG & FB. Not many have the opportunity to observe the creation and birth of their cut diamond.

JP has gone above and beyond in providing the ultimate in value added services. And compared to the cost of 57 faceted SIC diamonds of the same 4 Cs, JP's SIC WS Round H&A with 111 facets pricing is comparable.

I'd buy a JP stone sight unseen. Only vendor I'd say that about

I did my due diligence on JP before purchasing being that they are in Singapore I was skeptical. I asked for US customer references which JP provided and the customers answered affirmatively while testifying with rave reviews about their Decagons. I have since come to realize that JP is totally transparent. For JP's White Series, color grades less than G and clarity less than SL2 are rejected. Tight parameters. AGS 000 lab reports are another safe bet. I agree with you. JP has earned my trust.

Thanks for all the comments. I put my cash down and I should get the flip book by the end of the week and will post it. I originally was looking at the Decagon but the wife decided she wanted a Round. They did show me an in house 57 facet ideal cut of theirs vs. the 111 facet stone and there is a noticeable difference.
Her original stone is a WF princess so I'm looking forward to seeing them together!

Let me know your impressions on the actual Round 10 H&A vs WF Princess. My wife and I are constantly amazed by the light performance and hopefully you all will be equally proud and amazed. Congratulations on the purchase.

BTW just posted my flipping book on YT for another JP client who was curious about our Decagon’s pedigree. He is designing a ring setting by JP like my wife’s.

Update: YT did not post the flippingbook.

Your wife will have the splendor of 111 perfectly cut SIC facets and their inherent elite optical performance to enjoy and marvel over. Doubt the Princess can approach that level. Perhaps you can post Side-by-Side comparisons under varying lighting.

That would be a very interesting comparison, although princess cut is supposed to be different in terms of optics and performance compared to round brilliant and it’s modified versions.

I wonder if the original stone is from the ACA line of princess of WF.

Anyway, I am excited to see the first hand review on the round 10~

You are correct. It is comparing apples to oranges. The cutting MRB is for different optical performances vs. Princess cut. But the comparison is interesting. I do not expect the WS Round 10 H&A to be different from Decagon as JP did virtually demo to me the live Decagon optical performance trial vs. and next to their R 10 H&A and honestly I did not perceive a difference. Both showed equal edge to edge fire and scintillation and brilliance. Perfectly and precisely cut H&A scopes and rotational ASETs were identical too.

This helps clear a bit my query regarding the potential variance between the two! I think I am still slightly leaning towards decagon if I am to choose. Personal preference~ Both very pleasant:)

Either one is a win-win for you.

The princess I have is a WF ACA. I got the flipbook from JP for the stone:
JP 10 H&A WS Round

Our Decagon really out performs IRL compared to the vids as you will soon agree with me. Wife's friends and relatives are awestruck with its jaw dropping light performance and think I am the greatest husband for gifting her this well deserved BLING.

A colorless and nearly flawless Decagon is quite a treasure! I can imagine her utter joy and excitement upon unboxing. The JP Diamond Box is quite elegant and befitting too.

Just utterly stunning, XHellfireX.
The kind of stunning that makes you freeze in your tracks with your jaw dropped.

Hi OP, sorry to be bringing back an old post but how are you finding the JP diamond? How does it compare to the WF diamond and would you recommend the round 10 cut vs say WF ACA round cut? Thanks!
