JannPaul Stone?

6-7 months which is awhile but I feel worth it for something special

Congrats! I accidentally came across the White Series rabbit hole and now I'm hooked. I *need* one. Or three.

I'm a little confused with their business model though:
- Their price guide for LGD says that a 2.0-2.09ct, D-F, VS1-VVS1 starts at $5,400 USD. Since they're made to order, does this imply that you get-what-you-get and have little control over the diamond you walk away with beyond its size?
- If it's all luck-based, is an LGD on the lower end of a band (2.0ct, F, VS1) priced the same as an LGD on the upper end of that band (2.09ct, D, VVS1)? My intuition says that they wouldn't be priced the same but that could lead to the scenario where a customer waits 6 months for a diamond they thought they were going to pay 1X for but the growing process produced a better spec'd diamond they now have to pay 2X for example. How do they handle this?
- What is the reservation process like? I imagine there's a deposit that's required to place an order? Is the agreement binding or can you walk away if you're not pleased with the end result?

Thanks in advance for any insight. I've reached out to Eugene at JP directly but I'd love to hear from those with firsthand experience as well. There's very little information out there at the moment!

I can’t speak about jaan Paul lgd as I bought a decagon from them, but I will say that we paid a 10 percent deposit to secure the stone and we paid the rest , 6 weeks later when it was finished.

Yes same here the price is for the range if it comes out better you don’t pay more. 10% down and you can refuse the stone if it doesn’t come out the way you want. Idk about deposit back or if it goes towards another stone? Did that answer all questions? Anything else I can do to help?

Hi everyone, did anyone ship a JP ring into the U.S.? How much did you have to pay for state tax and duty? Thanks.

I did with mine. We didn’t pay any duty fees and my state has zero sales tax .
