I noticed that most posts are about jewelry items we buy for ourselves. But many of us also buy jewelry gifts for our partners, parents, uncles and aunts, friends etc...

What's on your list and who are you planning to buy it for?

Ooooh, fun topic!

My husband tried on the Rolex GMT root beer recently. It was so funny—we both expected he would like the Batman. But he fell in love with the root beer. As much as I get annoyed with Rolex for shortages, I am glad they finally distributed demo pieces to try, because this is one we never would have guessed he would like. Really had to be seen in person. At any rate, that’s the next thing I am eyeballing for him, but no clue when this will happen.

For my daughter I have a list, but not sure how I will prioritize and when we will do these things.
—Studs. She has a pair of really pretty but small CBI studs (maybe .17s?). I would love to get her in the WF ecosystem with a pair and then upgrade for special occasions. She’s 16, so we have lots of occasions coming up.
—Some sort of bracelet, but still knocking around ideas. She tried a DBTY and liked that, but she has also been wearing yg. Part of me would like to do matching something or other because we had matching permanent bracelets and we both loved it.
—Gold huggies. She wants something fairly small and simple, so if anyone has recommendations, I am all ears.

For my son, it feels like a limited list. Watches. Can’t imagine he would wear anything else. Both kids have automatic watches now (they’re Seikos) and they love them. DH and I have kicked around the idea of nicer automatics as a graduation present for both. I would love to get them something they could keep forever.

My niece will graduate from high school next year. I am still pondering her gift but at the moment my front runner is a Tiffany bean necklace in sterling silver.

These are great little huggies, comfortable to wear and sleep in. I have had mine for several years and they are very sturdy.

So happy you replied to this thread. I wasn't sure I would get any responses at all.

I really like all your options for your daughter and the watch for your husband and for your son. May I suggest something here (if I am not crossing any lines?) A simple silver chain and a pendant is all the rage for young men and maybe a good (doesn't have to be branded) sterling silver chain and a circular pendant might be a good option for your son.

Pls update here and let us know what you decided on all the items you listed.

Here're a couple of things I am thinking:

- a good sized diamond cluster pendant for my mom
- setting her amethyst and aquamarine into a ring and pendant respectively
- a good all-season bag for my wife
- a (blue stone) pendant for my wife which reminds her of her home city
- a simple diamond pendant for my sister
- a 22k gold necklace for my aunt.

Besides I prefer to help her with https://edubirdie.com/pay-for-homework because pay fot homework is an easy solution how to help her, it makes me happy, because she gets more freedom and we get to spend more time together, besides obviously I make sure she does all her homework on time. I think this source is one of the best, because I tried several and the rest had various problems like missing deadlines and other minor things.

Oh, that sounds like a fascinating experience with the Rolex GMT root beer! It's always intriguing how personal preferences can surprise us sometimes.
Regarding the priorities for your daughter's gifts, I have a different perspective. It's wonderful that you have a list of potential gifts for her. Considering she's 16 and has lots of occasions coming up, I think the order could be adjusted to match her current interests and needs. Perhaps start with the gold huggies since she mentioned wanting something small and simple. Next, you can explore the bracelet options, whether it's a matching one or something that reflects her current style and preferences. And finally, the studs can be saved for later, as they could be a great upgrade for special occasions, as you mentioned.
As for your son, it's fantastic that he loves watches, and a nicer automatic watch as a graduation present sounds like a wonderful idea. Watches can indeed be treasured for a lifetime and serve as meaningful keepsakes.
For your niece graduating next year, the Tiffany bean necklace in sterling silver is a lovely choice. It's a timeless and classic piece of jewelry that she can cherish for many years to come, reminding her of this important milestone in her life.
Remember, it's all about understanding their individual tastes and preferences, and I'm sure your thoughtful approach will make each gift truly special.

Oh, my list above was in no way in chronological order of what we will be purchasing. More in the random order my brain spat it out.

And not to worry, I am very in touch with my daughter’s preferences! Growing up I received many a gift that was for the giver rather than the recipient. Doing my damndest not to repeat that because ouch. It hurts.

We actually probably will start with the gold huggies—that is great advice. One thing I did with my daughter a while back was to talk to her about preferences. Did she want to have higher quality pieces, which would mean fewer of them, or did she want more pieces that were not such high quality? She chose higher quality, but has also wanted to supplement with a few more traditionally teen pieces. So she has some super cool ear cuffs, for example. I will keep taking her temperature about this. But it’s a conversation I would recommend everyone have with young people as they are getting into jewelry.
